Today, I decided to ask my girlfriend of 3 years to marry me. I made brownies with walnuts and put an engagement ring into the brownie I gave her. Not only did she choke on the ring, but on the way to the emergency room, I find out she is highly allergic to walnuts. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend of 4 years. I took the whole day to cook a nice meal, and stuck the ring in a cookie that I was going to give to her. In the middle of the dinner I was holding the cookie under the table, about to give it to her. My dog ate it. FML
Not bothered
Today, I wanted to propose to my girlfriend, so I bought M&M's which I had customized with the words "Will you marry me?" on them. She ate them all without reading them. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me a fancy chocolate candy and I got angry at him for forgetting that I'm allergic to chocolate and threw the candy into the garbage disposal. Turns out, he had spent a ton of money getting a chocolatier to put an engagement ring inside the candy that I just destroyed. FML
Bad idea
Today, I took my girlfriend to a very nice restaurant. I thought it would be a good place to pop the question. I gave the ring to the waiter and asked him to put it on her dessert plate. When she saw it, she picked it up, put it down, and said "No". Then she started to eat her dessert. FML
Today, I forgot my boyfriend was allergic to nuts and ate Nutella toast before he arrived. He had just brought me flowers for doing well in an exam and I kissed him. He had a reaction and I had to stab him in the leg. FML
Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. She said yes, but the ring turned out to be quite tight on her finger. She then chewed me out, saying that I can't do anything right, then changed her answer to no. FML
Yes or No?

Today, it was my 17th birthday. I didn't want my family to spend money on a cake, so my dad made this delicious apple ring. At least, it was great until my mouth began to itch and my throat closed. I have been allergic to nuts since birth, and my dad put walnuts in my birthday cake. FML
Today, my fiancée and I were selecting our wedding cake. The wedding is now off since I refused to buy her the "dream" wedding cake she wanted because it was chocolate. She called me childish and cheap. I'm highly allergic to chocolate. FML
Today, I gave my boyfriend a box of chocolates as a present. A few hours later, he texted me saying that the box of chocolates contained nuts. He's allergic to nuts and his mother now thinks I'm trying to kill him. FML

what the **** is with hiding engagement rings in food? i understand trying to be original but a possible choking hazard hardly seems worth it. just ask her like a human being and i guarantee it will still be memorable. get your goddamn life together

**** her life. Never put objects in food and how can you be dating someone for 3 years and ready to propose, but not know that she is highly allergic to walnuts? Nice try at being romantic though. Good luck making up for it.

Gotta tell ya, I've been with my boyfriend for a little over 3 years too, and if he didn't know about a severe food allergy of mine, I'd never forgive him. Not to mention I *probably* wouldn't want to marry someone who weakens the gene pool with such a lack of intelligence. Ring INSIDE the food... seriously?

I haven't read the other comments but.. Why would you want to marry her, she isn't even smart enough not to eat brownies with walnuts when she knows that she is highly allergic to them! and Why do people put rings in food!?! Dumbest idea ever! And also, why is it that whenever someone DOES put a ring in food, the girl chokes on it?!! Stupid people should not breed!

67, thats bull My bf is allergic to dairy. he has to ask about the ingredients in every meal every time we go out to make sure that there is no dairy in it. Even ordering a steak is dangerous because many places put butter on it that you can't see after grilling it to give it added flavor. If you are really allergic to dairy, that cuts out just about everything that most people eat - most breads, cereals, sauces, pastas. You really expect us to believe your boyfriend never realized you were eating an entirely natural diet and asking for special treatment at restaurants until just now?
