Today, I decided to ask my girlfriend of 3 years to marry me. I made brownies with walnuts and put an engagement ring into the brownie I gave her. Not only did she choke on the ring, but on the way to the emergency room, I find out she is highly allergic to walnuts. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend of 4 years. I took the whole day to cook a nice meal, and stuck the ring in a cookie that I was going to give to her. In the middle of the dinner I was holding the cookie under the table, about to give it to her. My dog ate it. FML
Today, I wanted to propose to my girlfriend, so I bought M&M's which I had customized with the words "Will you marry me?" on them. She ate them all without reading them. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me a fancy chocolate candy and I got angry at him for forgetting that I'm allergic to chocolate and threw the candy into the garbage disposal. Turns out, he had spent a ton of money getting a chocolatier to put an engagement ring inside the candy that I just destroyed. FML
Today, I took my girlfriend to a very nice restaurant. I thought it would be a good place to pop the question. I gave the ring to the waiter and asked him to put it on her dessert plate. When she saw it, she picked it up, put it down, and said "No". Then she started to eat her dessert. FML
Today, I forgot my boyfriend was allergic to nuts and ate Nutella toast before he arrived. He had just brought me flowers for doing well in an exam and I kissed him. He had a reaction and I had to stab him in the leg. FML

Today, it was my 17th birthday. I didn't want my family to spend money on a cake, so my dad made this delicious apple ring. At least, it was great until my mouth began to itch and my throat closed. I have been allergic to nuts since birth, and my dad put walnuts in my birthday cake. FML
Today, my fiancée and I were selecting our wedding cake. The wedding is now off since I refused to buy her the "dream" wedding cake she wanted because it was chocolate. She called me childish and cheap. I'm highly allergic to chocolate. FML
Today, I gave my boyfriend a box of chocolates as a present. A few hours later, he texted me saying that the box of chocolates contained nuts. He's allergic to nuts and his mother now thinks I'm trying to kill him. FML

TBH, if this was just for the lulz or not, i think it's a good addition to fml. if you haven't noticed the trend, it goes something like this: 1] stupid shit happens or gets made up. 2] stupid shit gets posted. 3] stupid shit gets read by all of us. 4] ??? 5] Profit. And btw, I'm a girl. And I think the idea of the ring in the brownie is cute, and Jim/whoeverthefuckitis just has a girlfriend that doesn't chew her food like cartering and aaarghalex don't tell their significant others about epilepsy and weird gluten allergies. fighting online, oh well. whatever floats your boat.

When do you guys learn? Never, ever, ever put an engagement ring in food! And to the girls who think it's "cute": You do know that a diamond is much harder than your teeth, right? Getting a crown is not much fun an can be close to the cost of an engagement ring.

Dang did she swallow the bronie whole or something? I don't know how she couldn't have possibly noticed there were walnuts in it. Maybe she didn't know she was allergic? Who knows. I rarely eat walnuts. I don't understand why people put engagement rings in food. Then you either swallow it or have to spit it out, which is always lovely. And I'd be really pissed if I bit into it and chipped a porcelain veneer.
