Today, I called my boyfriend over and over again and he never answered. His mom just called me and asked how I was holding up. I asked her what she meant and she had to tell me he checked himself into rehab because he was addicted to heroin. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Pants on fire
Today, I found out that while I was attending AA meetings to help understand how to help my boyfriend of 7 years when he got back from rehab, that he was not in rehab at all. He was on vacation. With his wife. FML
Today, I called one of my old coworkers to see how she was doing. My boyfriend answered the phone. FML
Breaking news
Today, I got a phone call from my mother asking me if I was okay. Confused, I asked her what she meant. She then told me that my boyfriend had broken up with me, and she just wanted to make sure I was handling it alright. I had to find out my relationship was over from my mom. FML
Sorry…
Today, I got the flu. Feeling really sick and depressed, I called my boyfriend to get some comfort. When he didn't answer his phone, I called his house, only to hear his mother telling me, "He was so sad that you guys broke up." I didn't know. FML
Today, I had to get my boyfriend's mom to help me get my boyfriend in his house because he was so drunk. He broke up with me for getting him in trouble. FML
Another addiction bites the dust
Today, I caught my boyfriend messaging flirty texts with one of the nurses who cared for him while he was in inpatient rehabilitation at the VA Medical Center for alcohol abuse. Not to mention he is back drinking daily. I suck at relationships. FML

He probably got help because he sees a future with you...

It's not that bad, junkies are usually formed by not getting your fix, people who are getting their H on are usually pretty functional. Kicking it of course is pretty hard so just don't give him a hard time about it and hope he can manage to quit, seen people do it and they've returned to living normal happy lives. And remember Methadone is harder to kick than Heroin.

Umm....How is that FML? He IS going to rehab...Im ???'d about how you didnt know about his addiction, perhaps he hid it really well, but surely you could tell in some way. I find it....Nice? That he went to get help...Im not sure if youre supporting him or not tho.

Remember your not alone. There are a lot of addicts out there and your best bet is to move on if your not serious about him. Also I suggest you wait a bit until he is stable enough to handle that news.

Well done on your boyfriend for going to get help. Sure, he didn't tell you, but there are worse ways you could have found out. Rehab is better than a mortuary slab.

oh no. go visit him in rehab and dump him. you don't need a drug addict boyfriend.

My ex dumped me when I checked myself into the psych ward because she didn't need a "crazy" girlfriend. Why punish him for getting the help he needs? Don't automatically assume that because he's an addict he's not worth it. Maybe OP loves him and is happy to stand by him rather than judging him when he's reaching out to better himself. It's never easy to check yourself into any kind of facility. There is so much stigma attached that facing the outside world again can be one of the hardest things you'll ever have to do. Being judged and subsequently dumped by your SO doesn't make it any easier. I'm not saying that everyone should stick by a life partner who is an addict, btw. Just that you shouldn't be so quick to judge

Don't break up with him, that's the worst thing possible
