Today, I attended an assembly regarding senior graduation. The assistant principal told us to look to the left and right of us, because those people would be our friends for the rest of our lives. I was the only one in the entire row. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Guest star
Today, I was looking through my high school yearbook. I found a picture of myself and a couple of my friends at our senior prom. The caption gave the names of all my friends, their dates who didn't attend our school, and listed me only as "Guest." FML
Today, my teacher told the class that we had better like the people at our table because we would all be working together for the final group assessment. Everyone looked at me, stood up, and moved. FML
Today, it was my high school graduation. Everything was going fine until everyone saw my family fighting over where we would go afterwards. Security had to pull them apart. FML
No reunion for you
Today, while browsing Facebook, I found out that today was my school's class reunion. I was the ONLY one not invited. FML
Today, I tripped in front of my graduation class of 225 and all of their relatives while receiving my diploma. FML
Nice try
Today, I recently graduated from high school and I went to a college party. I met these girls and told them I graduated college already, to sound cool. I then heard one of them say, "I went to middle school with you, and I was in your math class." FML
No future
Today, I went to my best friend's wedding. All my friends and their boyfriends were seated at one table, while I, as the only single girl in the group, was put on a table with all the other single people. They were all over forty years older than me. I feel like I have seen my future. FML
Today, it was my high school graduation. Because our school colors were red, black and white, and our principal looked somewhat like Hitler, the senior class prank was to salute him when he finished his speech. I was the only one. FML
Today, was my high school's senior awards ceremony. Over 400 people were crammed in the hot auditorium. I won five awards and each time I was called up the laughter grew louder. Apparently even the back row could see my pit stains. FML
Teenage kicks
Today, I found out that ALL of my friends were in the same class and I was in a different one. They went away on camp, and I'm going to be alone for this whole week. FML

I think that's not in order for a lot of people, I hardly talk to anyone from that period. Look on the bright side, nobody in your personal space ;)

In all honesty, most of those people in the assembly you'll never hear from again like a year or two after graduation anyway.

Life is just like high school. Only bigger and with less adult supervision.

Now you just need to learn how to filter feed, then you would never have to go outside again.

I know of a place where you never get harmed. A magical place with magical charms. Indoors, indoors, indoors.

The assistant principal must have had a very unique experience if she genuinely believes that. Either that, or she's a lying sack of shit. My vote is for the latter.

Wow. It sounds like a lot of you had shitty high school experiences. I'm still friends with the people I was friends with in high school, and even with two people I've known since elementary school.

It's not that we had bad experiences. It's just more likely for people to grow and mature at different rates, they lose contact over the years - work, university and family get in the way and they make new friends with more in common.

I graduated in 2008. I still am Facebook friends with lots of people from highschool, but I only truly talk to one person on a regular basis. Odd person here or there we'll text every now and then. My "BFF"? Haven't seen her since 2009. The guy I dated for 3 years? Haven't seen him in 4. It's just what tends to happen. My 2 closest friends, one's from grade school (who changed schools around grade 6) and one I met in highschool but went to a different school. It's just what happens.

If you think you're not going to have friends because of something you heard at your graduation, I'm glad I wasn't in that row with you.

Meh. I've been out of high school for ten years now and I've yet to even see most of my classmates again. Don't worry about it too much.
