Today, I got a call from my brother-in-law's doctor. Apparently he's made threats and fantasizes about killing me. "Notifying you is the protocol for things like this" he said, and ended the conversation with, "have a nice day." FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my brother called me up. He said he needed to talk to me. Whenever someone says that, I naturally I get nervous. He said, "I gave one of my friends your number." I was shocked and asked why. "Your life makes me sad." FML
Today, my brother-in-law's wife sent me a text venting about her argument with our mother-in-law. She also said said some nasty things about her and I mistakenly shared this info with my “trusted” husband, who immediately told his hot-tempered-momma's girl-IDGAF attitude older sister, who now plans on beating her ass. This is bad. FML
Today, I received a random phone call from an unknown number. Three times. After the third time, the person started yelling at me viciously. Then I suddenly heard a different voice, saying, "Terribly sorry, sir. My poor sister has dementia and thinks you're her husband. Her dead husband, I might add." FML
Today, my brother accidentally hit me in the throat. After I stopped coughing, choking, and feeling like I was going to die, he came back into my room, quietly said "I know your weakness," and left. FML
Today, I was sitting in my bedroom relaxing when I heard my little sister and my brother. Thinking it was cute they were talking again, I was listening. They were not just "talking", they were making plans on how to kill me. FML
Today, I found out some very disturbing information about one of my brothers, who I have not seen in 8 years. The information is so crazy that I've thought about going to the FBI. FML
Today, my brother-in-law is a complete toxic asshole who makes me have panic attacks. He nitpicks my house non-stop and always puts me down. I'm a normal, good person, but all I want now is for him to suffer greatly in life for all the horrible things he has said to me and about me. FML
Today, I was told by a doctor that I have a fatal disease, and that I should start making preparations for when I pass away. Then, another doctor showed up, panicking, and said that was meant for someone else with the same first name as me. The mini-heart attack I had at that moment almost killed me anyway. FML
Today, I got a stern talking-to from the police about threatening and harassing people. Who had called them? None other than my stalker, whom I'd just informed about the restraining order I was filing against him after finding him in my house. For the second time. FML
Today, I've changed my number twice already. When I asked why the insurance agent gave my contact details away without my consent, she replied, "But he seemed so concerned about you!" I suddenly wish there was a serial killer list I can upload her personal information to. Not that I'll actually do it, but fuck you. FML

Yikes! Well, it's definitely good that you now know about this, versus not. Now you can see what your options are. First, I'd immediately call a family meeting to see where to go from here. Also, I'd consider getting a restraining order.

I would look as though I didn't know as him knowing that the doctor has told you might cause him to do something stupid. But definitely be very cautious around him and try not to be alone with him! Good luck!

I would look as though I didn't know as him knowing that the doctor has told you might cause him to do something stupid. But definitely be very cautious around him and try not to be alone with him! Good luck!

Something like this actually kind of happened to me once. Back when I was in my senior year in college, I met this guy that my friends hung out with in the cafeteria, but for some reason, this guy gave me bad vibes and I never felt comfortable around him. Turns out that I was 100% correct because another one of my friends once admitted to me that the guy didn't like me. (Something I never understood because I honestly did absolutely nothing wrong to begin with) Then one day, he openly admitted that if he didn't have his medication he would want to seriously hurt me. I got really concerned and told my wellness counselor right away the next time I met with her. Fortunately, I learned shortly afterwards that the guy had left the college for good and went back to get some therapy.

That’s very unprofessional! He should have is medical license revoked! Why would his doctor want to kill you? It’s so creepy that he finishes his threat with “have a nice day.”

You gotta admit, it's not clear who is the antecedent of the pronoun "he." Seems to be 50:50 whether the OP's murderer will be the doctor or the brother-in-law. Only time will tell.

I think a lot of FML's are overreactions to trivial things that would really be quite cute or funny a week later in hindsight, but nope, this is one of the most genuine FML's I've read. I'm sorry you had to receive that call!
