Today, despite all of the pictures and proof of my fiancé, my parents still think I have an imaginary boyfriend. They met him, and were there when he proposed. They think it's all a joke. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I came out to my parents. They still think I'm joking. FML
Sure
Today, I went with my fiancé to meet his parents. He was really sweet the whole way there, and once we got there he introduced me as "he girl I'm going to marry." His parents took one look at me and said, "Are you sure?" I laughed, because I thought they were joking. They weren't. FML
Pranked
Today, I introduced my long-distance boyfriend of 2 years to my friends. I told him how my friends jokingly call him my imaginary Internet boyfriend. He thought it was so funny that when they met, he claimed to be my cousin, saying that I paid him to pretend to be my boyfriend. They believed him. FML
Don't let me be misunderstood
Today, my boyfriend bought me a ring for my birthday. My dad now refuses to talk to me, because he thinks I'm engaged. My boyfriend thinks it's funny, because he'd never marry me. FML
Today, I found out that me having a boyfriend is an on-going family joke. FML
Scheming
Today, I was supposed to get married. Instead, my sister made up a story about me cheating on my fiancé at the bachelorette party. He bought it and dumped me, despite there being no evidence of this. Turns out it was all a plan because they were secretly seeing each other for months. FML
Today, I found out that my whole family thinks my girlfriend is imaginary. I sent her a text in front of them telling her that. She never responded. FML
Today, I bought a fake "wedding ring" at Target to play a prank on my parents. They kicked me out, saying my "fiancé" can take care of me now. There is no fiancé, and I just lost my job. FML
Today, I discovered my fiancé has been telling everyone else we are just friends, yet last night he wanted me to go with him to pick up my engagement ring. I'm supposing the wedding will be a surprise to everyone. FML
Today, my boyfriend went to the beach. His parents relentlessly tried to hook him with other girls, all the while knowing that we're dating. Their reasoning is that I'm not a 'real girlfriend.' FML

Maybe they saw all those movies where the girl hires an actor to propose to her. That's how I got my fiancé.

It's probably more rough that OP obviously dated zero people before this, making her parents think this way

Who said op dated no one before this? She could have had so many boyfriends that her parents don't think they were all actually her boyfriends.

In this case, I recommend you live your imaginary life

her parents are in denial! My boyfriend's friend's mom never believed he had a girlfriend, and we've been going out for a year and a half. I finally met her a couple weeks ago and when he introduced us she laughed in shock and said "she's real?! finally!! haha" it was funny x)

If worse if they still don't believe her when they actually get married.

Blow up dolls don't count.

Since when do you have to pay a salary to a blow up doll after the initial purchase? Have they become self aware!?

Boy what a surprise it'll be when they go to the wedding!

Probably they will be surprised at the good 'scenario' and act. It's not like I'm talking from experience or anything.

Maybe reality will set in when they get the bills.

They'll impressed with how committed to the joke she is.

But guess who probably won't be invited!

I can just imagine your dad cracking up when he hears "who gives this woman to be his wife". If he doesn't believe it then, maybe he will when you have kids. Maybe.

Paid child actors from birth. The conspiracy will continue.

The children will go to their "grandparents" every holiday.

I would be the torturous one that would tell them their whole relationship is a joke to... I don't mean to be rude but if they have the balls to do that they can take it too.

So I take it you're family isn't paying for the wedding? Sorry to hear that OP let's hope they believe the grandchildren are real when the time comes.

Or, you know, actually the OP's and her husband.

Well, he must be too good to be true, lucky for you he isn't. Congratulations on your engagement :)
