Today, as I was walking towards my friends at the bus stop, a man came up to me and asked me out. This was the first time I'd be asked out in months. I accepted. When I reached my friends they looked at me then asked, "Why were you talking to that homeless guy?". FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I finally got the courage to ask out the guy I've liked for a long time. He's a cashier at a grocery store. It was about 1am and I was his last customer, everything seemed just right. Just when I was about to ask him to the movies, a drunk girl stumbles in and asks him out. He said yes. FML
Today, I walked home from work when a woman asked me to come inside for a free meal. It was at a homeless shelter. FML
Today, I got asked out for the first time in my life. During a prank call. By a complete stranger. FML
Today, I ended up talking to a homeless man and bought him a meal. In return, he hugged me and groped my ass. FML
Too good to be true
Today, after being hella single through this pandemic, I was gently stopped by an attractive man on my way to the bus stop. He looked deep into my eyes, and I took my headphones out so I could hear him better. Then, he started moving nervously, took a breath… and offered me meth, before tweaking away. FML
Crossed purposes
Today, while I was walking home, a homeless man saw me and didn't ask for change, but how much I charged. FML
Today, I asked out one of the girls that hangs out in my group of friends (the same group I have been hanging out for three years). She stared at me for a couple of seconds, then said, "Who the hell are you?" FML
Today, a guy I've liked for a while asked if he could talk to me during break. He'd never done that before, so I was excited and said yes. As soon as we both sat down, he asked if I'd help him get a date with my best friend. FML
Consider the offer
Today, I, someone who has experienced only one romantic relationship in my 35 years (which ended 8 years ago), was hit on by a homeless drug felon client at work. FML
Random encounter
Today, I was walking in the freezing rain when a guy asked me if I wanted to share his umbrella with him. I grinned and told him I did. He then noticed a pretty girl walking behind me and he abruptly turned to her and asked her the same question. FML

Um, desperate much? If they look homeless, I'd be cautious just to talk to them. This is a whole new level of... awkward. Random guys you meet at bus stops that ask you on dates... Just... No.

Well if you didn't notice he was homeless then maybe he's just a very bad dresser..? You should go out with him anyway but go some where public & tell your friends where you're going just in case he turns out to be a freak. & who knows, he mightn't be that bad.

THIS IS RETARDED. either you made it up or you're really immature. i'm assuming you mean a high school bus stop, so why as a teenager, are you even pausing to talk to random 'men' youre too young and that is dangerous. also, why are you 'desperate' enough to go out with some 'MAN' youve never even seen before, regardless of the fact that he is homeless?

#23 why would you assume that its a high school bus stop? As far as I can see there's nothing in there that says anything about "high school" or "school bus" so I'm pretty sure she was talking about a public bus stop. Wow, what a ******* concept.

umm, you could have said no, you know. I don't care how long you haven't been dating, it doesn't mean you can't have standards. YDI unless you actually thought the guy wasn't too bad and your friends are just presumptive losers

Why WERE you talking to that homeless guy? o_O And you say yes to some random guy? YDI.

Maybe try becoming less desperate. Then perhaps you won't be so blind in the future, and you'll also be a better person to date if you find a little more security in yourself.

The real FML here is that you said "yes" to a guy you had never met before at a bus stop, when the only thing he said is asking you out. YDI for being so desperate

No dating in a long time is NO good reason to accept 100% total strangers hitting on you. Seriously, him being a hobo isn't even the point, the fact that you accepted a stranger asking you out by a bus stop is the worst. Even people "working by the side of the road" tend to pick first instead of accepting just anything that drops by just because it's been a while. Have some self respect. I say that not to be mean but because you could really be in danger if you accept some random weirdo and he rapes or murders you. And to people bitching at #23, the highschool thing is a perfectly possible and probable assumption. The fact that all the friends were gathered at the bus stop (without the mention of them going on some organized friends' outing) makes that it's not impossible at all that they were all going to shool together or something. People don't all take the bus at the same stop at the same time for no reason. That and the fact that people out of highschool tend to be more mature/know more about the world and are less likely to accept some hobo hitting on them just because they're THAT desperate. Well, it depends, but at least they'd worry about it being a weirdo...

What the hell? WHAT the hell? Why would you even accept that from a COMPLETE stranger?! Yeah, YDI... .. Weirdo.
