Today, a guy left flowers on my doorstep. I got home to find my dad claiming he bought them for my mum. I told my parents they were mine, they laughed in my face. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, after spending $120 to have a bouquet of flowers delivered to my mom, she called to complain that I had forgotten about her for Mother's day, but also praise my sister for apparently receiving my flowers I sent at the door and passing them off as hers. FML
Today, I asked a coworker what she'd bought her dad for father's day. She said that she got him some flowers, and I laughed because I thought it was a rather feminine gift for a man. I later found out that the flowers were for his grave. FML
Today, I bought some flowers. As I was checking out, the cashier asked, "Aww, these for your mom? How sweet." I responded they were for a girl I liked. She laughed and said, "Sorry…" FML
Today, I was in a terrific mood after finding a bouquet of beautiful flowers on my doorstep when I came home. That is, until I recognised the handwriting of my "secret admirer" was the same as my mother's. FML
Today, I received gorgeous orchids from my long distance boyfriend. I was excited about it and told my parents. They still are convinced I have no boyfriend and I mailed the flowers to myself. FML
Good one
Today, on the way out to buy groceries, my boyfriend asked if I'd like him to buy some of my favourite flowers. Happy with his rare show of affection, I said yes. When he returned, he gave me a bag of our usual brand of flour and laughed hysterically in my face. FML
Today, a guy from work that I barely know gave me sunflowers for my birthday. He told me, "You mentioned they were your favorite." I mentioned it to my family at home a few days ago. FML
Today, I sent a $120 bouquet of flowers for mother's day. When I called tonight see if my Mom got them, she replied that they were still on the doorstep because she "didn't want the dogs to get excited and start barking" when she opened the front door to bring them in. FML
*shrinks into corner*
Today, my dad decided to be an awesome person and fold my laundry without telling me. Later, I heard my parents having a conversation about a pair of panties that were "like dental floss" and which sister they belonged to. FML
Today, my Mom came to pay me a short visit at college. She handed me some flowers, which were a Valentine's Day gift, because she "figured I wouldn't be getting any from anyone else this year." FML

Hey, least you know someone likes you! But surely he should have left a card in the flowers to prove they're yours? Asshole father though!

Get the guy who bought them to bring the receipt. Prove them wrong and then laugh at them instead.

Time to put the petal to the metal. Yes, i know that made no sense.

This joke probably sounded better in your head, didn't it? :)

On a side note, I find that the 1st comment usually gets either a bunch of haters or a completely new thread that has nothing to do with anything.

#15, he isn't even #1 anyways, technically. He's poster #2.

#2, maybe "petal to the meddle" could be considered whimsically amusing.

^#2 is actually the 2nd commenter. Therefore, there was even a worse one before this one. Oh, the possibilities! OP, your dad sounds like a prick for taking credit for something nice he didn't do. And your mom is just as horrible for laughing at you. When your guy comes around, have him mention the flowers he got you. Such as, "Did you like the bouquet of flowers I left for you? I was told they are your favorite color."

#14, No, it sounded just as retarded in my head actually, and i accept my dislikes accordingly.

At least you got flowers?

I don't think they did. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that their dad gave them to the mom.

#3, you're right. It's the thought that counts.

Actually it appears that the dad gave them to their mom. Might want to re-read the fml.
lulubelles 33
I think what #3 meant is that at least someone likes OP enough to give them flowers in the first place. They'll probably be in a vase in the front room or hall etc anyway, so she can still get to see them and know that they were meant for her.

11 & 23, YOU might want to re-read the FML. the flowers were for OP but the dad took them to make it look like he did something nice for the mother.
WhatsGoodBro 12
44 that's what I was saying. I guess I should have been clearer.

The dad undoubtedly tossed the card out, if there was one.

Parents can be so mean sometimes.

Well at least you know they're yours!

Tell your dad that you will play along, for a price...
Zebediabolical 45
If the parents laughed at the idea of OP getting flowers I don't think there's anything to play along with.

Get grandma to take you to the gym. You can hook up with one of her rejects.
