Thanks!
Today, my house got broken into for the third time. The nice police officer said that if I didn't want my house to keep being robbed I should, "Fix the place up so it doesn't look like a crummy vacant building." FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my house was broken into. The cop that came turned out to be a guy I fought over a girl with in high school. He sneered and said that everything appeared to be in order, and that I probably ransacked my own house. FML
Today, my apartment was robbed. The police report said my apartment was ransacked. No it wasn't, that's how it looks every day. FML
Today, my house got broken into. They just made a mess. I saw a note on the kitchen table that read, "There's nothing good here. You have shitty stuff." FML
Today, I came back home to find that my house had been robbed, one week after my neighbors. I was walking around my neighborhood to see if anything was suspicious, and discovered that my neighbors had put up a sign, reading: "Rob the neighbors, THEY don't have a security system." FML
Today, after having my car been broken into the day before because I didn't lock it, I made sure I locked my doors. When I got off shift and entered the parking lot, I noticed a brick had been thrown through my windshield and a note that said, "Nice Try". FML
Today, the police called because someone had turned in my wallet that was stolen. I happily drove home only to find that my house had been robbed and ransacked. FML
Today, two weeks after reporting our car was broken into, the police showed up to our flat. They came to inform us that our car was was broken into. We explained that we knew this and reported it weeks ago. Apparently, it was broken into again, and set on fire this time. FML
Today, I came home to find that my house had been broken into. After assessing the loss, I saw a taunting note on the fridge saying, "Locks work best when the door's SHUT." My housekeeper had apparently left the door wide open. FML
Today, my house was robbed while I was at work. The robber left a note telling me my stuff was crappy and that they found my safe under the bed. FML
Today, my house was broken into. I'm really poor and don't have a television or nice clothing, so they just dumped my trash all over the house and stole my one loaf of bread that was supposed to last me for the week. FML

If a freaking police officer tells you your house looks like a vacant building, maybe you should take his advice! Don't be a slob.

I once lived in a “crummy vacant building”, before I met Lois and started the show. I was poor and had to eat rats that I would trap using only my trusty hatchet and a 12 pack of gum. I eventually got kicked out when the super realised I was keeping one of the rats as a pet, I named him Wilson.

Well, it sure made a loser thread.

Don't you guys have anything better to do? As an actual response to Sammy, I partly agree. Sadly, it will take and cost a lot more than paint if the house looks that rundown.

As intriguing as the lovely lady's default might be, please try to keep your comments relating to the FML. ;-)

37 - Are you the OP? o_O 33 - I agree. If it's bad enough that people think it's vacant, most likely there's paneling/siding coming off, rust, maybe even broken windows, etc. You'd probably want to get that other stuff fixed first, which can be really expensive.
ubetrwatchBN 5
Sry, 33. didn't look at your profile till now. 0 FML's posted.

#50 No, Rachel is not the OP. She's a moderator. :D

You should have reported him. He's there to help not insult. F his life.

your an idiot

I'm surprised at just how frequently this exact sentence (I use that word very loosely) is posted here. It probably averages to a few per FML. If you're going to insult someone at least spell it correctly.
LH_FIRE_22 12
There's no evidence he said that. Report won't do any good. Instead I would take his advice considering he deals with robberies all the time
tlbee5507 0
Report the "nice" officer. If he was doing his job maybe these things wouldn't be happening.
FarSide 23
What the hell does a cop doing his job have to do with OP's decision to live in a shithole? Donkey-opening.

I would have thought thieves would go for nice houses rather than vacant buildings...
Kelita 0
ya think? idiot.
ut_hates_me 0
you would think so 10 but that's not really the case. it's called broken windows theory. look it up.
I_R_Genius 3
There's this thing called a "traphouse." Holds a lot more and better stuff then the nice rich houses.
Kelita 0
24 number 10 is too stupid to look anything up. She's a lost cause.
BeastNerd 3
Kelita, are you mentally retarded? You’re calling others idiot, but, in fact, you’re the real idiot. Honeybunches just asked a reasonable question, and you had to viciously attack her. Please get perdix’s anal sticks out of your ass. No offense to perdix’s anal sticks. :D
ChibiChibi_fml 28
Wasn't KingDingALing the one with anal sticks?

Nicer houses have higher chance of surveillance and security. Vacant lots are usually easy pickings
DrDiamond 0
i think what the op is trying to say is that it's crummy and vacant because the robbers took everything!!
SnailFist 5
that's really nothing bad I hate FMLs that aren't life F**kers

I think I've found someone else who has a crummy vacant looking house :)
