Play it safe
Today, my girlfriend of three years dumped me because my refusal to go out drinking or get wasted at parties with her makes me "too boring". Thing is, I'm a recovering alcoholic. I'm over one year sober and I don't want to risk relapsing again, yet she expects me to choose between my health and her idea of fun. FML

It hurts now, but she did you a favor. She doesn't care about your best interests and won't join you in sobriety. If you're strong enough to get sober while still with an alcoholic, something tells me you'll be just fine

I’ve been there. It’s been 25 years for me. Her true feelings were shown. Keep going on the soberness, I know it’s hard, but it is manageable.

I know it’s easier said than done but she obviously finest have your best interest at heart. Probably time to find a new gf. Or just focus on yourself, good luck dude.

Thing is if she's been with you for 3 years and you've only been sober for one, she's seen you at your worst. Why the hell would she want that to be a thing again?

Maybe she liked him better drunk, or maybe she’s threatened by his self-improvement. Partners who are saboteurs are the worst.

She is obviously not the one. I would move on I am sure you can find someone that will be considerate of your needs.

Sounds like she has the problem. You're better off without that kind of toxicity.

I don't know about this, but where the hell is Morganville? Two FMLs in a row about drunken debauchery in Morganville! I gotta make a road trip because I'm "too boring" right now.

You’re better off without a toxic person like that in your life.

It's good that she dumped you. She's clearly a very selfish person. Congrats on being sober!!! That's awesome. I hope you find someone who is kind, compassionate, and supportive.
