Today, while chatting with my in-laws, I told them about my upcoming spinal surgery. Soon after, when I went to get us some drinks, I overheard them murmuring about how many surgeries I've already had, how I'm a drain on the healthcare system, and how I should ideally just die. FML

Today, I heard my surgeon mutter to a nurse how easy it would be to kill me on the operating table and make it look like an accident. FML
Today, I overheard my mother-in-law and sister-in-law over the baby monitor. They were talking about how much better off my daughter would be if I were to die. FML
Today, a number of people came to visit me in the hospital, including my grandparents. They called me "weak" and "a cowardly millennial" for going to the ER instead of sucking it up, and blamed me for rising healthcare costs. I had a compound fracture. FML
Today, I was finally having a conversation with my granny, who I don't get to see often. First thing she tells me was that she was going to have surgery soon, because her "women's insides" were "dangling out." FML
Today, after having surgery, I called my family to tell them I was out, safe, and on my way home. The first thing they asked was if they could "borrow" some of my pain meds. FML
Today, my surgeon was talking to me about my upcoming heart bypass operation. I was extremely nervous from the start, but he somehow managed to keep saying things like "death", "fatalities", "high-risk", and "never wake up" throughout. FML
Today, I overheard my in-laws talking about me. It started off with light insults and ended with, "People like her are the reason murder ain't always wrong". FML
Today, I was diagnosed with a chronic pain condition. My parents seemed very sympathetic and my mother even cried. When we got home, though, they started laughing and asked if I really believed all the shit the doctor was talking about. FML
Today, I was talking to my only grandson about how I was going to the dentist to get my teeth fixed and how it was going to cost a lot of money, he replied saying "Who cares, you're going to die soon anyways". FML
Today, I got my wisdom teeth taken out. The two male doctors told me they'd give me anesthesia, but when they did, I could still hear them. I heard them talking about my breasts and how flat they were for a 17 year old. FML

That's not too unusual, unfortunately. Sorry OP. Sometimes healthy people are jerks. I had a good friend who once remarked to me that sick people are a burden on the healthy and it isn't fair to the healthy ones to have to pay ALL THAT INSURANCE because of sick people who clearly aren't taking care of themselves. She said this knowing I have a totally random chronic illness (MS), and would SELL MY FREAKING SOUL to be healthy again. Sometimes you just gotta keep your head up (if you are well enough) and walk away (if you are able to). Hang in there, OP!

Unfortunately Darwinism is thwarted by our ever-advancing healthcare and everyone gets to live. This may seem harsh, but the life we know it on earth will be over for humans within 100 years if Earth's resources keep heading the way they are and in an ideal world, the weak would die off to allow the more advanced of our species to reproduce. Thanks a lot OP, you're killing Earth.

That's a really ******' awful thing to say about you. I highly doubt it's your fault you need so many surgeries, they should be more supportive and not wish death upon their son-in-law. Or wish death upon anyone.
