Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I discovered that my husband's recent business trip to France was actually a filthy holiday in Blackpool with my sister. FML
Today, I taught my girlfriend some French. She then used her newfound language to break up with me. FML
Today, on my long-awaited vacation, I got a phone call from my sister. Her childhood friend died. She bawled on the phone, and my plans were ruined. My husband said it was selfish of her to do such a thing when she knew we were on vacation, so she ramped up the drama times ten. She and her friend used to bully me. FML
Today, my daughter's idea of a prank was taking all of our money and getting herself arrested. FML
Today, my mom scolded me for ruining my sister's "vacation" here. She just got deported from abroad, and was only gone for 2 months after falling for a marriage scam. Now she deludes to herself that she was born and raised there, and claims not to understand our mother tongue, calling it third world primate language. FML
Today, my husband and I sat our 10-year-old daughter down for a chat over her recent cursing. When my husband asked where she'd heard the words, she "innocently" replied, "from mommy's other boyfriend." He took her seriously, accused me of cheating, and hasn't been home since. FML
Today, my mother disowned me because I wouldn’t fill out her visa application for France so that she can see her boyfriend. The reason why I refused was because my husband and I are on our honeymoon, and would like to spend some time together. I guess that makes me a “useless” daughter. FML
Today, after we got married five months ago, my wife and I planned a trip to France and Spain as a honeymoon. We’re supposed to be leaving on Saturday. She just told me last night, “I am so not looking forward to the trip.” FML
Today, my French teacher set up a role-play scenario to act out in front of the class. During one of my lines, I mispronounced a phrase and called my teacher sexy. FML
Today, on my family vacation, I tried to put my foot down and declare that my daughter would absolutely not be babysitting anyone's kids. Everyone got mad and made us go home. FML

#58 - For God's sake, would it have taken you one second to check your facts before trying to sound like an idiot in a public forum? Oh, and ******* *grammar. Grr.

It's OK, they're only a 14 y/o stereotypical American. Perhaps when they are older they will leave the USA and discover all the countries which speak British English, where learnt is commonly used.

I want to know what kind of prank could have called for this payback.

Il y a des mots comme: Merde, Salaud ect. Haha, learning a second language is great for many reasons; being able to say things others don't understand is one of those reasons :P Le français est plus facile à apprendre. Ça c'est ma 3ième année à etudie le français et je ne suis pas mal :) Translation: French is very easy to learn. It's my third year studying french and I'm not bad. :)

Yeah. French seems harder than Spanish.
gwadafiesta_fml 2
that's because it is harder

good. the French are silly anyway. it will put a bunch of snooty aloof Parisians in their place to be told off by a kid :) and no, for all you overly sensitive commenters, I am not saying all French people are snobs - just that many people in Paris are. just like I know a lot of great Americans, just none are from New Jersey. and have you ever tried to find a polite person in New York City?? good luck there.

Someone's overly paranoid.

It's ok to generalize people by city but not by country, right?
benderbot19 0
lol...seriously paranoid.

yes, Miami is full of silly people. nobody can drive either. it's a fragmented city composed of what amounts to many small towns very very close together. go someplace, and you tend to run into the same people in spite of the large population. I live here because it's my home. my friends, family, and job is here. plus snow sucks. same as every other city I suppose. the cool people tend to stay below the radar, it's the assholes you notice the most. I can go someplace and generally not cause a problem. I may not fit in, but I don't make a big deal if things are different from home.

uh. have you ever even been to NYC? the only rude people are the cops. most of us are quite nice. and nobody's ever shouted "kike!" from a passing car at me, here (coughpennsyltuckycough).

Well 77 the truth is, i bet the French are pissed off with all of the tourists that go to Paris and know very little French... I mean, most French people can speak English, but very little English / Americans can speak French. I don't know, the French people i have spoken to don't seem to mind, but it must annoy some of them.
gwadafiesta_fml 2
"Most French people can speak english when americans don't speak french". Well as a French I'll tell you it is actually shameful how lame the french are in foreign languages. That might be the reason why they seem unfriendly, because they can't even use the basics of proper english. Even the politics look like fool when they try to make a sentence in english... but hey, one day maybe !

agreed ^^

OP, sorry, but your sister rocks. Such mad, evil genius deserves applause.
