Locked out
Today, my girlfriend left for basic training. I went to say goodbye to her at the airport. Only after I walked back to my car did I realize that she still had the keys. My extra set was back at the house, locked in. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I thought it would be romantic to take my girlfriend to the beach. It was raining so we left our shoes and phones in the car so we wouldn't be bothered. Apparently, I left my keys in the car too. The car was locked. FML
Today, my roommate asked me to lock the door as we left our place. I told her to use my keys, because my hands were full. Afterwards, she and her boyfriend set off out of town for the next couple of days. She forgot to give me back my keys. FML
Today, I locked my keys in my car. I had a spare key in my wallet, that I also left in the car. FML
Today, I was sleeping in after working a graveyard shift. I awoke to my girlfriend sneaking her stuff out of the house. She planned on leaving her key on my pillow and taking off without any notice whatsoever. FML
Today, I helped my fiancé pack up and head to Texas for a business trip. I'm not only going to miss him, but I'll also miss my car keys that I accidentally left in his car. I drive for a living. FML
Today, I got back from a six month deployment overseas. My girlfriend of three years couldn't pick me up from the airport because she had an intramural softball game to go to. FML
Today, I took the bus home after visiting a friend. Standing in front of my house, I realized that I had forgotten my keys. They were still in my car, which I had parked at my friend's place and forgotten. FML
Today, after locking my keys in the car and waiting three hours for my mom to bring me my spare, I reached into my bag only to find my keys. FML
Today, I came home to my empty apartment. My girlfriend had left a note on the floor that said: "Took my stuff and left. Took your stuff and pawned it." FML
Today, I went with my girlfriend to the airport for some much needed vacation time. We arrived on time but were stopped at the gate when they told me I didn't have the right passport. The plane left without me. My girlfriend did too. FML

Well, that's gonna be a very expensive journey to get your keys back.

Well, you'd better not criticize her for her stupidity and thoughtlessness, because when she gets back, she will be able to kick your ass. Then, you can live in fear of her, happily ever after.

Never leave without an extra set of keys . You don't know what can happen !

Do you really always bring 2 sets of keys with you?
drewflav 17
There's a reason why magnetic key holders exist for cars. Might not be helpful for getting into the house but at least you can get back there. One thing at a time.
MissRoxiie 12
.... Yes #28 i always have an extra set of key with me... Its useful in situations just like OP. your going to look bright the day you forget your keys either in your house or in your car..
kingbrizo 24
good planning, but this doesnt help OP at the moment....now if only he could get back in his car, all he needs is to reach 88 MPH.....

Or without leaving the extra set with trusted friends or family. Preferably nice ones, who will come get you.

I always bring both sets of my keys with me. I have a bad memory and have almost locked my keys in my car. If I were to lock them in, rather than calling AAA, I just go in my purse, grab keys, unlock and voila. It's fixed
etchsanity1 11
I carry a garage door opener or spare house key in my car usually and a spare car key in my wallet
Master0fTheDark 13
65- what if you lock your purse in there too? then you're screwed :p
kawaiisakura 12
That's 1 thing I never forget...well except once in my school library...but my purse is always attached to me lol.

It's a bad enough feeling locking yourself out of the house/car, I can't imagine sending your keys off on an airplane..

Its times like these that you must learn the art of thinking like a criminal. Do criminals have keys to your car? Probably not. That doesn't stop them from driving away in it! Break back into your belongings!

Sorry...when my brother would forget his key or whatever, he would find a way to break in and then leave notes like "I should totally be on that show 'it takes a thief'! BTW I fried that pound of bacon you had in the fridge, I got hungry." That is an actual letter ge. left after breaking in...

Our neighbours have a spare set, so if I am locked out they can give me that set. Or a good friend you trust.

Does your auto insurance have roadside assistance? Becausr it's time use it. I feel for you, but YDI.

well looks like it's time to go to war.
LolPieRofl 11
Basic training, not war.
kurodansei 16
just doesn't have the same ring to it though

Wow you are one unlucky bastard. Good luck coming home, buddy.

Ouch.... Good luck to your gf, though

BCT is easy. Did it 2 months ago

You missed the point of the FML though.

I just finished basic training last week...wasn't that easy, but also not horrible.
gracehi 33
I found basic training to be the most miserable experience of my life (at that point). Then again, I was one of the fatties, so that might have something to do with it. My chief even nicknamed me "fat ass." I wasn't fat by the time I graduated, though. :D
outoftown 27
But the real question is: Did you take the keys to basic with you?
etchsanity1 11
Boot was fun but challenging ... It keeps getting easier every year now I hear they get to workout in tennis shoes and some have stress cards? Apparently the DIs can't even get creative in the punishments they hand out :/
Calingaladha 21
Stress cards are a lie, at least for the Air Force. We worked out in our PT uniform, which is a grey USAF shirt, blue gym shorts, white socks and tennies, with a zip up jacket and pants if it's cold.

You're a total moron. How someone can forget something that important blows me away
ropeandneck 7
It's a good thing then. anything that can blow away a judgemental douchebag taking duckface pictures in the mirror is a good thing. I salute you.
SillyGirl4602 23
This happens to a lot of people. He was probably thinking more about his girlfriend leaving than remembering to get his keys back from her. I have locked my keys in my car and I am not a moron.
ropeandneck 7
no you're not ! I'm going to lock my keys in my car RIGHT NOW so everyone can see I don't become a moron ! *runs away naked with keys hanging from a necklace*

Leave it to a POG to mess everything up.
twiztedone 19
Can't be a POG if he's not in!
twiztedone 19
Yes I know what it is, but you still can't be classified as a POG if your a civilian! It only applies to those that are in.
