Harsh

Today, my swimming coach made us swim fifty laps non-stop as punishment for his previous class being unable to swim a drill properly. They're 8-11 year olds who are still learning to swim. I feel like my arms and legs are filled with lead. FML

What an ass. Either way he's the teacher, it's his fault they can't swim.

Look on the bright side at-least you are building some muscle

Well, you are on a swim team. He likely planned on having you swim 50 laps, regardless. Saying it is punishment, especially unfair punishment, builds unit cohesion and motivates all of you through a common emotion (anger). That's why they do it in the military.

Wow what a prick. Tell an adult or manager.

I'm 11 and I made it to county for my 100 freestyle

If that was hard you definitely aren't on a swim team because that is less than I have swam in one practice since I was 10

Atleast it wasn't butterfly! You'd probably be dead.. Trust me.

But you got an amazing workout! It may be unethical on his part but in turn it will make you even healthier.

that is so unfair!

I would be delighted to be punished with 50 continuous laps. I swim competitively and I'm 13, and that sounds more like a treat to me than a punishment.

Anyone who thinks this is hard obviously isn't a swimmer. It's seriously a piece of cake. Your life isn't ****** up so don't act like it is.

Wow dude your a noob 50 laps is my warm up
