Today, my girlfriend threatened to leave me if I didn't follow her latest fad of becoming a goth, which involves dressing like an undertaker's haunted hearse and putting on eyeliner. Last week she was into Reggae and beanie hats. FML
Being a goth should not be a "fad". And goth is more than just appearance; it's pretty much a lifestyle of interest. Looking like an undertaker gone extreme with the eyeliner seems more along the lines of desperation, trend-hopping, and trying to find herself than anything else.
If being in this relationship involves her forcing you to do something you don't want, and changing who you "are" as a person, you may want to take her up on that offer of leaving. It's probably not worth it in the long run. How do you think a goth girl would feel, for example, if their boyfriend wanted them to dress up in frilly ribbons? That wouldn't go over well, and I can't see this going over well for you. Something's going to give.

There's nothing wrong with goths, but trend hopping ain't cool. I think you might be wasting your time in this relationship.

If she doesn't know herself, how are you supposed to know the real her too?? She needs to grow up.
