Today, my boyfriend called me explaining that he is getting married this weekend to a woman he met on Craigslist. Why? Because I won't marry him, and he'll make an extra thousand dollars per month having a wife since he is in the army. FML

Today, my boyfriend of over two years said he wants to get married before he leaves for basic training. Not because he loves me, but because he'll get paid more if he's married. This is the only time he's been excited about marriage. FML
Today, my fiancé and his family accused me of being with him only because he's rich, refusing to go ahead with the wedding. I accepted his marriage proposal 4 years ago, when he was penniless and unemployed. FML
Today, my fiancé told me that he expects me to agree to quit my job to cook and clean after we get married, or he will not show up at our wedding. He earns minimum wage and my salary is 17 times higher than his. FML
Today, the guy that I'm in love with and plan to marry some day told me he would choose a million dollars over me. I got upset and told him I no longer want to be with him. In an excited voice he said, "Really? So are you serious I don't have to worry about this love stuff anymore?" FML
Today, my boyfriend told me I should finish school early and get a job so we can get married, because then he'll have enough money to buy the truck he's had his eyes on for our whole relationship. FML
Today, I found out why my boyfriend of 5 years won't propose/marry me. He would rather wait for his estranged wife to meet someone, fall in love, decide to get married, and do the filing herself. He doesn't want to pay the couple of hundred dollars for the uncontested divorce filing. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me he's prepared to commit to marriage, but only if I buy my own ring and tell everyone he surprised me with it. FML
Today, I found out that my long-distance boyfriend just got married because his "real" girlfriend is pregnant. FML
Today, my "boyfriend" told me that he loves money more than me and would date it if he could. FML
Today, while talking on the phone with my long-distance boyfriend, he let me know that he was getting married in August to "some girl" for his papers. After I objected, he told me, "Well, you can marry me if you want." I'm not sure if I just got dumped or proposed to. FML

Greedy little asshat, you are probably better off without him since he obviously values money over a relationship, honor, self-respect... etc. Look on the bright side. He'll probably catch a whole host of sexually transmitted diseases if he sleeps with her and considering she is off craigslist, he's taking a huge risk.

sounds like he did what he felt was necessary. you made your choice he made his. you decided to tell him no and he moved on. at least he told you rather than you becoming the other woman. the truth is, a spur of the moment wedding like that. she'll usually end up taking everything. take solace in that.

Hysterical. And not the original post but the replies. Tell the military? What are they going to do? It isn't illegal to marry someone you barely know. It isn't illegal to get married to someone other than your girlfriend. And to the poster....only overseas does the number of dependents matter to some extent. Stateside the extra you make by have dependents is the same even if you have one dependent or have 10 dependents.

reply to number 98 and 111 Because some people like to date a person and get to know them very well before getting married, some people don't want to be married and can have a long lasting loving relationship without that piece of paper. Some people want to finish their education, some people don't want to be too young etc. There are so many reason to be dating without thinking of marriage right away. I think it is smart of the OP.

More like FHL. The guy is a dumb ass...because; once he gets married to her, she'll basically mooch off of him for however long she wants, then divorce him unless he marries her with a prenuptial agreement, and then take half of all his things, including his pay and his pension of he stays in long enough to retire, even more so. He's a dumb ****. If you put his brain in a bird it'd fly backwards. Why don't you just wait until he's married and then tell him all this? Paybacks a bitch!
