Branching out
Today, I thought it would be nice to park my new car under a big, shady oak tree to prevent it from heating up in the sun. The big, shady oak tree thought it would be nice to shed a massive branch on top of my new car. FML

Wild Nights Out
Last call, bad decisions and 3 a.m. texts you'll regret until noon. Cheers.
Today, I walked home and found a massive branch had fallen into my parking space. My first thought, "Thank God my car wasn't hit!" My second thought, "Where's my car?" FML
Today, I was driving behind a tall truck when it drove through some overhanging branches. Suddenly, a huge branch fell on top of my car, leaving it scratched all over and with several dents in the roof. FML
Today, I went to the mall and couldn't find a parking spot. After circling around for 20 minutes, I finally saw a shaded spot in the uncovered parking lot area under a tree. It turns out, I'd parked under a coconut tree. I could tell from the coconut planted into my hood. FML
Today, I drove to a party after getting my car back from the shop. A thunderstorm started as I made my way there and upon arriving, the power went out. The guests decided to watch the storm from the front windows when someone mentioned how funny it would be if a tree fell on my car. Seconds later, one did. FML
Today, the tree that my neighbors have neglected to cut down fell on my car. They claim that by law, they aren't responsible and don't have to pay for it. FML
Today, a storm dropped a tree across my road. I would have moved it with my tractor, but there was a tree on that too. FML
Today, my son thought he'd take my new car for a drive without permission. He accelerated straight into a tree, reversed into a lamppost and then accelerated again into the neighbours car. FML
Today, I was tossing my car keys into the air and catching them. I threw them up really high, only to have them land in the branches of the palm tree outside my door, at the very top. FML
Today, I was in a parking lot, doing donuts in my dad's car to rizz some baddies. It was going great until some dumbass got in the way and got launched twenty feet. I panicked, lost control of the car, and smashed into a decorative tree. FML
Today, it was a VERY windy day. A tree blew over and landed on my car, obliterating the windows, and totalling it. I only bought it yesterday. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?

It's summer in Australia....which is where the FML is from. Edit: #2 beat me to it.
jwbfml 11
My apologies.
jwbfml 11
My app doesn't show me where the FML is from. Once again I apologize.

It was about 30-40 degrees celsius (86-104 fahrenheit) the last 2 weeks. That's how hot it gets in December here. Even hotter actually because Summer has only just started.

I know this sounds like a really stupid question, but I'm still curious, 11, so you guys celebrate Christmas in summer then? When it's all hot and everything?
djgoreo 12
yeah 29, they do. Christmas is Dec. 25th regardless.
eddeeezzyy 19
Yeah, I feel really stupid about posting that first comment. I think it's just that I've always imagined Christmas being celebrated when it's all cold, never in the heat. Please excuse me, everyone.

Perspective is a crazy part of being human. And I love it. I've grown so much by changing my perspective on things.

I forgive you 29/31. I was also curious.

In the southern hemisphere there winter is at the same time as our summer and vice versa, it's funny how many people don't know/realise this. Xxx

We don't all have the same app, dumbass.

This year is my first Christmas in Australia (from NY, USA) and it does not feel the same : /
onlychildFTW 34
It doesn't feel the same because it isn't what you are use too. Just like an Australian would think it feels different if it is snowing. And asking if they celebrate Christmas in the summer is a stupid question.
Virginia6810 16
Wow, 74, thank you for clearing that up. If it weren't for you I would have never figured out WHY it didn't feel the same... And, no question is stupid. He was brave enough to ask.

Since they live in Australia, meaning its summer there, it'll probably get pretty damn hot.
BurningGrannies 16
be glad you weren't in the car when it fell! :)

Awww, how kind of it

At least the whole tree didn't fall on it.Hopefully insurance will cover it.
UberNova 18
At least this...At least that..... People are always saying that. At least a T-Rex didn't come and eat it then kicked the rest of it into the sea.
ICastillo 25
At least T-Rex's are extinct so that won't happen...
HKCgrimmjow 15
Atleast T-Rex's are epic and even though this conversation was a waste of time, atleast it was about T-Rex.

Insurance will only pay what the car is worth at the moment if it is completely totaled.
jmaurm 6
Depends on the type of insurance the OP has. There are policies out there that will replace your car with one that is one year newer than the totaled out car. In America of course, have no idea what type of insurance policies you can get in Australia

Did you try calling Nationwide for a shiny new car?
Inheritance 10
I don't think Nationwide covers damage caused by Treebeard.
lilhellian 27
Like a good neighbour, State Farm is there.. With a brand new caaaaar.. :)
gc327072 31
It would've been funnier if instead of Bob Barker, they had Xibit bring some ridiculous thing and say "check out yo BRAN NEW RIIIDE!"
Kristoffer 35
Nationwide IS on your side, of course.
Stalkerloo 11
Does Nationwide cover Mayhem? Might wanna try Allstate, you'd be in better hands.
onlychildFTW 34
Nation wide doesn't cover damage sustained in Australia on Australian registered vehicles.
ICastillo 25
Well if it is that hot, the tree was just being generous and thought you needed a sun roof and tried to make you one.

There are easier ways of "going green"
