Today, my wife has implemented a point-based system for sex. The list she sent shows I can I earn, for example, 20 points for washing the dishes, 50 for vacuuming the house, but only 5 for walking the dog. I get some action for every 5,000 points I earn, which should take about 4 months if I really work at it. FML

Time for her to be your ex wife i believe. Sex in marriage shouldn't be used as a prize, it should be a normal sign of affection from both parts. That right there is instead manipulative behavior. Just try to immagine it with role reversed to see how crazy it is: what if you implmented a point based system for house works? She can learn, for example, 20 point for a *******, 50 for sex, but only 5 for a handjob; she get some housework done for every 5.000 points she earn.

AFAIK that book talks about the way the author claims men and women assign value to the actions of their partners. It doesn't talk about actually making a list of points for sex.

Unless this is an agreed on bdsm type relationship with those parameters, this is really not ok in any way, shape or form. I would not jump right to divorce but some major communication would not go amiss here. If you both work but she does all the cooking and cleaning, then you really should pick up the slack, but if you work and she does not, she should be able to handle *most* of the housework and you do a thing or two after work for some fairness. This might have been a last ditch effort on her part to get you to listen OR it is a power play and not a healthy one at all. Please sit and talk with her and find out where this came from.
