Today, I met my boyfriend's parents for the first time. Turns out his dad is the asshole customer that I complain about all the time. He recognized me too and spent the entire dinner making passive-aggressive remarks about how bad of an employee I am. FML

Today, I met my new boyfriend’s parents, hoping that they would like me. They made subtle, mean comments during dinner and made me feel like total crap, all because my boyfriend left his ex-wife for me. They don’t get that we’re both good and compatible for each other, and that’s what matters. FML

As bad as I feel for you, OP, I feel worse for his previous boyfriend. Add to that the fact that the gender icon indicates they're gay, and this gets really interesting. "I assure you, I'm a big fan of your son, but I get the feeling you're not exactly accepting of his sexuality given how you've treated me." "What? 'Course we accept our son!
