Why would you ask that in the first place? 1) If you ask that all the time YDI 2) If he doesn't treat you right on a regular basis, and you don't know how to have enough self respect to leave the relationship YDI 3) If he has to reasure you all the time due to your insecurities YDI

Yea when I was with my ex I asked him if he loved me... He ripped a piece of duct tape off the roll he was playing with and tapes my mouth shut. Yepp. Good stuff

Though rude, that is pretty funny! There are 3 things that can happen when you ask someone if they love you. 1. They say it back and mean it. 2. They say it back and don't mean it. They only said it so you won't feel bad. 3. They don't say and nobody wins. Lesson: let them say it on their own, don't ask and put them on the spot.
