I have a pit of my own & I don't expect her to protect me by attacking someone. She has a bad enough rep because of people who don't care enough to see the true side of pits. So I'd rather defend myself then having the possibility of losing my baby.

a guy pushed me and my pitbull bit the shit out of his leg and he started freaking out, just depends on how protective the dog is over you, also females r more protective then males. fyi

Get a bull mastiff. Those babies love people, but will protect their owner. I once had a bf who couldn't even come over or my dog would lose it. He turned out to be a total jerk.

My dad asked me a few weeks ago, "What's the point of you having your cat? It doesn't even protect you or alert you of danger.." This is just more proof that all dogs are different , some are just simply companions like cats.
