Today, I surprised my daughter by telling her that I'm going to treat the family to a trip to the Himalayas in a few months. She promptly threw a tantrum and listed her main reasons for not wanting us to go: "It's a freaking desert there," and, "I'll miss the new Spiderman movie." FML

She shouldn't get to go on vacation and the rest of the family should. Sounds harsh, but what she did is ridiculous and needs to be taught a lesson. If she isn't grateful for what she gets, then she doesn't get anything at all.

I'd be so happy if my parents went on a trip and left me alone for a few days or even weeks, so I don't think that'd be a punishment

One does not simply refuse a trip to the Himalayas -_- Frickin' ingrate.

eyah... I don't know your daughter or anything but I've been in this situation before when I was a kid. It most likely has absolutely nothing to do with her wanting to see the movie and more likely that she just doesnt want to spend time trapped with you 24/7. ...or she just really hates the cold. either one. For me at least, even though my family use to always go off on really nice vacations, going with them was usually unbearably painful. (before you judge, my mother is the traveling companion from hell) so often time I would just stay behind then go by myself later.

That sounds like an amazing trip! Hopefully after you start planning and showing her what you're gonna do and see she'll realize how lucky she is to be going

And I'm assuming the Sahara, home to Mt. Everest, is your next trip?

Seriously who does that? I wouldnt want to miss the new spider man movie either lmao..-__-

Oh wow. You should take her and leave her there... Or trade with the parent who bought her clever daughter a new pair of jeans in the other fml.

I'll gladly go in her place. Just leave the ungrateful brat at home.
