Today, my mom talked me into going to a funeral since my dad wouldn't go. It was for one of her classmates. When it was our time to view the casket, we paused in front of it for a second before my mom leans over to me and says, "What if I told you that was really your dad?" FML

Sorry for your loss, hopefully you got to speak at least or left things on good terms. Life gets busy and expensive. I haven't seen anyone in my family in about 5 years, but I speak to my mom every couple weeks and my sister every couple months. Hopefully things were better than me and my dad since I hope his funeral is the next time I want to see him. So try cheer up and remember the good times you did get.

Same damn thing happened to me. Never got to know my dad and then I'm informed that he's dead... Went to the funeral only to learn that I have half-siblings from his side.
