Today, I received the beautiful dress I'd ordered on the internet. It's a size smaller than my usual, just to encourage me to lose weight. I managed to fit into it and wear it all day, but I've now been struggling for a couple of hours to remove it without tearing it to bits. FML

Buy the size you have, not the size you want.

I understand the point but why do women do this to themselves? YDI for knowing it wouldn't fit

Damnnnnn. If you're gonna rip it getting out of it, might as well have your man do it for you and make it into something fun ;) that does suck but at least you got yourself into it. Small victories sister small victories.

You can always get a dress taken in a little. Best to order correct size

I think you mean taken out, if it gets any tighter op will be stuck forever.

No, in this context it'd be taken in. Buy clothes at the size you are now lose weight get the clothes adjusted (taken in) to suit your new size

kimg0885 I'm genuinely confused as to how you got confused by what lvg meant. They were perfectly clear. Order a dress in the correct size because you can just get it taken in if you lose weight.

I thought the same thing as kimg0885. Honest mistake.

Self torture in the name of vanity, ydi.

Why would you do that to yourself? Women's sizes vary so much from one manufacturer to another, you might as well ignore the numbers. Wear what fits, be comfortable, and don't torture yourself. Wearing clothes too big or too small makes anyone look unkempt.

You shouldn't have worn it if it's tight. That's the reason why you bought it. Because it's smaller and to encourage you to lose enough weight to be able to wear it comfortably.

Good motivator! Especially if you like it! I have the opposite problem... I buy the size I should have, but now size large shirts are the same as what size xl was 2 years ago

Trends change all the time and if you think your size will you can buy another new dress once you've lost the weight, simple enough. If you look at clothes you loved several years ago you probably wouldn't feel the same looking at them now.

if you were going to wear it you shouldve gotten your size anyway.

No! Buy the size you are; it's all you got.
