Today, I realized my boyfriend is so seldom romantic that it actually makes me uncomfortable when he says something cute. FML

Hopefully you don't have panic attacks when he tells you he loves you OP.

Must be a guy thing.. My boyfriend finds it amusing to lick his hand and wipe if all over my face.

So when he tries to put in an effort it is not appriciated and when he doesn't put in the effort it is not appriciated. And some wonder why most men think women are complicated.... Also you have to remember this is a modern time, gender sterotypes are falling away (as they should) so if you want some romance there is nothing wrong with you yourself introducing it. He might wake up to the idea more then too and it becomes a two way street.

getting my ex to show any emotion then when he was wanting to was like pulling teeth after 8 years together of pretty much a one sided relationship...I left, OP I know exactly how your feeling..talking can only do so much after so much time!

let me add we were together from 13-21 so obviously major stuff going on at those ages.. we had ended it all amicably and remain in contact..I ended up with a guy aftee that to find out he was oh so very mr.wrong but I learned alot from both my past relationships....and now at 30 found the love of my life!!! It DOES get better op!!!! :-)

I married a man like that. I never know when he'll be romantic. And I almost have forgotten how to "kiss", because he "doesn't" kiss. Good luck OP. My Unromantic husband is wonderful! We have our own "me time" without pestering the other about it.

That doesn't sound like a great relationship...
