Today, I got feedback on an essay I wrote, by my mum who is also a teacher. She said it was 'worse than most of her pupils'. She teaches 10-year-olds. I'm a 20-year-old student at university. FML

at least she's honest..... what more could you want in a critique? also, maybe she's using comparative feedback, i.e. by comparing her students' work to their potential best work... and you to yours.

Are you kidding me? "My essay was awful. FML" Get a better essay! God, people. Why would she say it was good if it was awful? You have an awesome mother.

Back to the drawing board!?

Ok I don't know why people keep saying this but why do you say "University"? It's annoying. You are missing the article before university!!! Jeez.

Ouch - mind you I get my dad to look through my uni essays. But then I get annoyed cause he sends them back and he seems to have highlighted every other word. I wouldn't mind, but he colour codes the highlighting, then never gives a key or explanation! My mum's also a primary school teacher - I have the same problem with basic arithmetic - and she teaches 7 year olds. I'm 18

At least your not majoring in literature
