Today, at work, I saw a lady leave her infant in a display crib so she could go shopping. When I stopped her and told her she couldn't do that, she said, "Well, I do it all the time." FML

I'm confused as to how this is your FML. The child's? Yes. The mother's? Perhaps (when her child is taken away or social services becomes involved or even when she has to pay for therapy for her child in the future because someone did something horrible to the child while not in her supervision), with the YDI vote.

Pretty sure it's the format of every FML. They all start with "Today" and end with "FML". I think that the OP was just sharing the story because they felt bad for the kid having such a shitty mother.
