Today, at my strictly Catholic grandmother's funeral, I was made to sit in the row behind the rest of the family, because I was born out of wedlock and wasn't a 'real' member. FML

What a ****** up family. Remember this day and how they ostracized you should you ever win the lottery and they come begging for money.

That's what happens when your mom is a ****. :-P

Can't believe you bigots voted down my comment simply for stating a fact.

Sorry to break up the highbrow debates, but we're closing the comments on this FML. You know why. Well, maybe. Probably. You ought to.

If the priest didn't know, talk to him--he needs to bring the might of the Church down on them, because that is NOT Church position. (Don't remember a lot from my own days as a Catholic, but if anyone had so much as suggested that, at a funeral no less, with any of the clergy I'd grown up with, they'd have been walking away with ten new assholes.) If the priest DID know, go straight to the bishop and tell him EXACTLY what happened. Someone ought to be kicking ass and taking names here. That is COMPLETELY unacceptable behavior at ANY point in a church, let alone at a funeral.
