Today, after almost a week of being bed-ridden with a bad flu, my mom told me it was my job to clean the house. When I told her I still had a fever and didn't feel well, she looked at me and said in an understanding voice "It's okay honey, you can do it slowly." FML

if you've been in bed for a week, ure actually making it worse by staying in bed. you actually have to get up and do stuff if you want to get better - no joke. that doesn't mean scrubbing the floor with a toothbrush, but it's a good idea to walk around, get the mail, do the dishes, sweep the floor.. something light. u have to fight the sickness or you just keep feeling worse

that a hell lot better than me. I cut my finger (nearly slice a third off the tip) while opening this medicine bottle with a knife (trust me when I say im not weak, the manufacture are jerks, along with baby safe precaution) for my mum. 4 things happen. 1. as soon as she say be careful, literally just finish her sentence. I cut my finger. 2. she replace "are you alright" from most mother to " I told you so". 3. as I hurry to find some bandage because im bleeding really bad. she told me not to spill the blood. --_--; 4. she made me clean up the trail of blood.

My mum does the same thing. If I'm making time off of work and class due to being sick, I need to make up for it by doing all the cooking and cleaning.

You're supposed to rest and get better. Not work around the house. -_- FYL, OP. Sometimes, it's actually a good idea to disobey your parents. I'd take having my stuff taken away or being grounded over straining myself any day.
