Today, I was at my boyfriend's house with his family. A kitten walked over to me with an engagement ring tied to its collar, along with a note that said "Marry Me?" I got super excited, only to find out that it was for his brother's girlfriend of 10 months, not me. We've been together 4 years. FML

Today, my boyfriend asked me to marry him by handing me a ring and telling me, "Okay we're engaged now." I should have seen it coming when we started dating, I went to his house one night and as I was leaving he said, "Okay you're my girlfriend now." FML

You sound a little upset for not being proposed to after 4 years... Perhaps you should consider your life choices. Does your partner want to marry? Have you talked about it? My husband and I talked about it a lot, so we knew we were on the same page...

Some guys take longer than others. If you see him as your future husband then you should talk to him to make sure you both are on the same page. Not an easy conversation but if he knows he does not want to marry you then he needs to stop wasting your time. Mine proposed just under the 5 years of being together. My parents got married 2 weeks after meeting and are still together. So the 'when' it happens doesn't matter as long as you both can see it. Good luck to you.

My best friends parents met cause they drove by each other and the dad stopped u-turned and mom pull over to talk to him. They knew each other a month and got married..... They are still married and on their 30th year

you say nothing about how much you love your boyfriend just that you're jealous his brother's girlfriend got asked first. maybe that why your boyfriend doesn't want to marry you. ydi
