Second time

Today, I found myself locked in a bathroom for the second time in my life. This time at least I was at home. I live alone. I had to break the window on the shower door and crawl out. Now, I need to crawl in/out to shower, brush my teeth and more. FML

I’m confused did you get locked in the bathroom or get locked in the tub/shower area. If bathroom: check the door knob if it not working get a new one. If that’s not it check the door itself the moisture might have cause the door to warp. Borrow a belt sander and sand the door down and I should be fine. If you got locked in the tub: if you have sliding shower doors you should be able to push the door in or out and then take it off it track. If you have a shower curtain then the pull the curtain to one side and get out

If you live alone, why are you locking yourself in the bathroom? Who's going to walk in on you? Also, if you're a tenant, speak to your landlord. If you own the place yourself, kick the door in, and get it replaced later. Not that you need one, because you live alone.

you should need a star or flathead screwdriver to take the handle off if this is the issue. sometimes bathroom doors have really shitty locks that can be opened with a butter knife, i had to do this to check on my ex, when she had an episode shed be unresponsive on the floor sometimes and the door was locked.

I always lock the bathroom door no matter who is in the house. Partly habit and partly because I’m just uncomfortable with an unlocked bathroom door.

I want to know how you get locked in a bathroom. Twice.

This makes no sense at all. I don't understand how you got out and I don't understand why once out you didn't fix the door. You don't seem too swift. ydi

Don't you have an extra key for it?

i had that happen once at church when i was a kid, it sucked

This FML is phrased weirdly but I'm going to assume that you just live in one of those weird houses that has a window by the tub/shower rather than you being a bit dense and not being able to remove a glass paneled shower door. That's the assumption I'm using because otherwise I can't see why you would have to crawl in to brush your teeth and that. Having said that, You live alone. So pray tell why you couldn't just break the bathroom door in (if a warping issue) or remove the handle and such from the door and just leave it that way so it can't latch closed. Yes it may be awkward if you decided to have company but I can't see how doing either of those things would be any more awkward than asking a guest to crawl in and out of the window in your shower to be able to use the restroom.

She lives in Japan. I can’t even imagine how weird the bathroom is compared to most other countries....

No, you don’t need to crawl in and out to take care of your hygiene needs. You need to FIX IT like a damn adult.
