Lost weekend

By Staypositiveforwhat? - 06/05/2022 04:00

Today, after all the effort to book a weekend away to a wine farm, the airline has been grounded, and the accommodation refuses to give us a refund. Also, the other airlines have tripled their prices, so it is not feasible for us. So now we have to consider doing a 17-hour drive each way for a two night stay. FML

Are you sure that this road trip would be cheaper than the loss? And you could try to ask the airline company to refund you instead. The company has insurance.

You might, if I’m going to a wine farm there’s only one thing I’m doing!

If you're thinking of driving 34 hours for a little wine, you may want to go to an AA meeting. Admit you have a problem with alcohol.

When you book an hotel in a wine farm, you don't drink all day. You hike, enjoy the view, visit nearby towns, etc.

Considering the price of gas, you might as well pay the triple cost of a different airline if the drive is that far.
