I fail to see what business it was of yours to even ask. Sheesh, busybody much? Maybe she had allergies or didn't want to go outside. Let it be and you can avoid feeling like a jerk.

Ahw. Hopefully you shook it off, you were only trying to be nice, but I guess next time when it comes to the seniors maybe just a "hi, how are is your day going?" or something along those tiny lines :s.
