Seeing this is not from USA, but just across the pond in UK I have to ask, why on earth you thought you'll get anything less? There could have been two more options, parents kicking you out and saying take responsibility for your actions, or they not reacting at all, not giving you any direction or guidance and two years from now we will read on news about a 16 year old beating his parents because of cigs, grounding, ending up in juvenile detention center Every illegal action that your parents to not bring to police will be handled at home by giving you consequences to live with. I'm ashamed that 14 year old doesn't understand these boundaries and is upset because of result. But you would be okay causing fines and troubles for your parents. F your parents life. At 14 you could easily leave home, if you know better, but remember leaving so early has consequences where nobody owes you anything and you might end up in jail, gangs, streets, homeless, dead and All because you want to participate in illegal activities and your stupid parents trying to stop you from being cool. Your parents might be mean, but they're right about the vaping. Cigarettes, vaping, they're terrible for you. I started smoking at your age, fourteen, and I wasn't able to quit for another fourteen years. Wrecked my breathing, ruined my teeth. You probably won't listen to this, because of course I didn't at fourteen either, but you're better off without it. It's a sink of time and money and health. Honestly I am shaking my head writing this, because I sound like an anti-smoking advertisement. My fourteen year old self is rolling his eyes at thirty three year old me.

The world needs more "mean parents" that actually have your best interests in heart. Whether it's your "friends" or not, you did have it in your possession. Your parents could get in a lot of trouble for you having these things being underage. perhaps think about your choice of friends if it was really theirs...you got in trouble for it & your parents could have been in trouble too. is this really all worth keeping this friend or keeping their underage belongings in your underage possession? I wish you & your parents best of luck. They're doing you a favor keeping you grounded at home. Until you're old enough to make those decisions for yourself. So you don't get yourself or them in any trouble. Juvi isn't a great place to be. You don't want to screw up your life or your relationship with your parents over some vape pens & juices.

Yeah, it probably feels like they're really mean right now. Wait a bit, let the dust settle, and calmly explain what happened and that it wasn't yours, and that you don't want to vape. You're probably in trouble, but I doubt you're actually grounded for four years. They're just upset; let them calm down and talk to them reasonably, and they'll probably listen.
