Greed

Today, my husband told me he wants a $600 birthday gift. He doesn't understand why I said that wasn't happening, and is now mad at me. Not only can we not afford that, he only spent less than $10 on my birthday gift last month. FML

Ya I understand that kind of bullshit had an ex that was like that always wanted something expensive but never reciprocated on birthdays and Christmas. I only found out years later in therapy that that was actually a red flag so it may be time for a relationship evaluation.

maybe he has a few PS4 games to play

It's stupid to buy a really expensive gift unless you know the person really wants it. What did you ask for? I'm guessing nothing. Don't be mad that you don't know how gifting works in the real world these days.
