Go to his fiancé when he's not around, say "you know, it's the anniversary of my moms death today, and he doesn't seem to care... Try imagining how much he really cares for you. If you think that's a lot, just think, when you die, he'll care just as much." And walk away. Let that thought sink in :P

#32, I see your point, but with only a year since the death, the pain is still extremely raw, and even if the father isn't hurting, it's very inconsiderate of him to announce this on the anniversary. He should have considered how it would make his family members feel. Also, that was his spouse, I find it pretty disrespectful that he did this on the anniversary of his own wife's death.

Maybe he's trying to overlay the sad memories. But it was insensitive. Be glad you didn't have quite the experience my friend in high school did. Her father spent her mother's first death anniversary with his new wife on their honeymoon.
