Don't get high on your own supply

Today, I saw my doc about the painful swelling I've had in my arm all week. He seemed totally out of it, and ended up telling me it's all in my head, despite the swelling. When I respectfully suggested it might be a blood issue, he just said, "Nah". FML

Seems like someone has been writing off his own prescriptions.

You're telling YOUR doctor what might be wrong with you? Honestly you were being annoying by putting all of this out there and it was a slip of the tongue because you were telling your grandmother how to suck eggs. YFI

The good doctors are the ones who LISTEN to their patients. If I listen carefully enough, 80% of my patients will tell me what their problem is before I say anything.

Assuming they can speak when they reach you anyhow. I always get the funny doctor. Last time I was in was for a broken arm and fingers; the only thing he said before he called the orderly to set up an xray appointment was "Self inflicted?" It made me laugh.

56, that's a legit question, if oddly phrased. A lot of ER doctors in and around the Colorado Rockies ask similar questions during ski season, since insurance companies want to know if you broke something in a collision with another person or if the injury was entirely your fault (i.e., self-inflicted).

It's a huge problem up here too. The CBC was saying the other day that a lot of rural communities and Native reservations have Oxycontin addiction rates of over 80% with prescription rates under 5%.

Dude. You have a bad doctor. Just saying...

Ching Ching copay.. He gets paid to help or not. Proof we need to screw doctors like we did teachers....... Vote yes to Obama care!

Is there some way to report him and demand drug testing on him?
