Today, my mom went on a rant about how insulin and other diabetic medications are evil western poisons, and that she can control her condition naturally on her own. That would be great, if she actually ate right and exercised instead of just using meditation to “think” herself healthy. FML

She takes the cake! Treating diabetes with "evil western poisons" is as easy as taking candy from a baby or as easy as pie. (Ironically, it's virtually impossible to take pie from a baby.) I donut envy you.

It's very easy to take pie from a baby, as long as you don't mind hurting the baby.

Eating right and exercising is good for you, but it is also not a substitute for insulin or medications. Say it with me, boys and girls and others: If the problem is chemical, the SOLUTION is chemical.
