Today, I went to the store, but after I'd selected my items, I saw that I'd forgotten my wallet. When I tried to explain to the cashier, he thought that I was trying to steal and called the cops. My roommate had to come to the store to save me. FML

Today, I went grocery shopping at the store near my house. Upon checking out, I look up to see that my cashier is none other than the woman I went on a date with a few months ago, and whose calls and texts I ignored after she began to obsess over me. FML

Today, while at the grocery store, I saw my mother. I thought it would be funny to scare her by sneaking up and grabbing her ass. Not only was it not my mom, I left the place with a ban from ever returning to that store. FML

Today, while bagging my groceries at a store, a lady came over to me, took a good look at the food I'd bought, picked out an item and put it in her bag. When I confronted her, she called security on me and told them I wanted to steal her stuff. I got thrown out and she walked away with a smirk. FML

you would be better off acting like they do not exist 90% of the time. I don't mean ignore them if they say hello, I mean don't act like they have enough impact on your day to day life to have you hiding when they walk by...

Unless you are actively stalking your ex, there is no reason I can think of to actually hide from them. If you are stalking your ex - YDI. If you are simply new to breakups and timid, then it was foolish to hide, but really dumb to hide so well and so long that you got locked in…
