Great parenting

Today, both my mom and dad agreed I basically ruined their life by existing. They weren’t even trying to be mean, they just casually mentioned that their lives were brilliant before me, then after I was born everything turned to shit and they’ve been miserable ever since. FML

I'm so sorry, OP. That happened to me too, several years ago. What a shitty thing for parents to tell their child. If they keep whining, tell them you didn't ask to be here, that it's not your fault, nor is it your problem.

Wow! How to be terrible parents, the advanced version… OP, it’s not your fault you were conceived and born - That was your parents decision or just plain stupidity or carelessness. And it’s certainly not your fault that your parents couldn’t handle being parents - Again that’s on them… You were not put on this earth to make your parents happy. You were put on this earth to be the best version of yourself you can be. Explore your interests and talents, make something good of your life. If possible, never look back on this accusation by your parents, who are just looking for an excuse for why their own lives didn’t turn out like they expected or wanted.
