Today, after submitting a work order to our landlord due to our dishwasher being “broken”, my roommate and I found out there is a wrong way to put dishwasher pods in. We’re both 25 and have gone our whole lives not knowing this. FML

Today, I figured out it's the first time my roommate has done the dishes after living together an entire year, but I got to clean up the bubble waterfall that came pouring out of the dishwasher because she couldn't figure out where the detergent was supposed to go. FML

Today, my roommate said that whoever was doing the dishes was doing it wrong. I've been doing the dishes for weeks. So much for being a clean roommate. FML

Today, I had to tell my 28-year-old roommate she needs to wash her hands after using the bathroom. She then said she’d try, as long as I try to put my dishes in the dishwasher. Those aren’t even on the same level. FML

Today, I discovered that my dishwasher has a filter. I cleaned out food from it that has never been in my kitchen since I moved in. FML

Today, my dishes smelled so perfume-y after going through the dishwasher and a clean glass of water tasted soapy. I checked the pods my husband bought and loaded into the dishwasher to make sure we never got that brand again. They were laundry detergent pods. I was essentially a millennial eating a Tide Pod. FML

Today, our dishwasher broke. It's my husband's chore to do the dishes, but he refused to hand-wash them, and instead suggested we take them all up to his mother's for her to put in her dishwasher. FML

Today, I guess my husband was trying to prove something by fixing our dishwasher himself instead of letting the maintenance man come. He watched videos on YouTube but ended up breaking it beyond repair, thus voiding the warranty. Now we have to replace the whole thing at full price. FML

Much easier for someone to say “Oh it leaves gunk in your dishwasher” or whatever than me sit there and listen to however many minutes of fluff the Youtuber rambles about before answering my question. But then again maybe you’re right. Why should anyone ever visit any site or chat or ask anyone a simple question on anything when they could just sit and watch YouTube all day? /s

Using pods at all is the wrong way. Check out Technology Connections on YouTube, he's got a few videos that go over dishwasher functionality, and as a side effect, he demonstrates how to get the most out of a dishwasher.

I wash dishes by hand even if there is a dishwasher. Too many rules etc. Are you supposed to just put the pod in the dishwasher rather than in the dispenser? I’m 50 (FML)
