Today, after leaving my mom's house, I got 4 text messages from her about how I was a terrible person for not saying goodbye to my sister when I left. The "sister" she was referring to is the family dog. FML
Today, I told my mom she made me feel unloved my whole life. She called my sister and apologized. FML
Today, my little sister and I were reading a book together and out of nowhere, she said "I love you." My heart melted and I told her that I loved her too. Then she told me that she was talking to her stuffed animal, not me. FML
Today, my brother joked that our dog was more attractive than I was. I looked to my mom for support, and she said "Well, she is pure bred." FML
Today, my sister teased me about being a mistake baby. When I told my mom what my sister said, her response was "I still love you anyway". FML
Today, I found out my little sister is marrying my ex, and that my mother set them up. FML
Today, I was in the car with my 4-year-old sister and our puppy. Suddenly, she blurted out from the backseat, "I don't love you anymore." Shocked, I asked her to repeat herself. She looked me straight in the eye and said, "The puppy doesn't love you either." FML
Today, my sister asked me to let her dog out of the kennel when I got home. I did only to have the little beast bite me. She then ate the entire content of the cat's litter box, which she couldn't keep down. FML
Today, I found out my parents are getting divorced. They're fighting over the dog instead of my sister and me. FML

Really. Really. Your dog is more important than your /child/??? I love dogs, and will admit that most are a lot nicer than humans, but we lack the depth of communication with them that we have with other people.

ottokat I completely agree with you..especially the comment 34. animals are moreso better than people (especially dogs).. but they dont have the ability to communicate w us in a way that keeps us mentally sound..although close to it. I know when I spend time w my little pup she always makes me feel needed, loved, important.. and in a way we have our own way of talking to each other.

But not more than your child, for god's sake. I love my dogs, but I think I'd be a bit more torn up if my mother died than them. Not because animals are worth less than humans, but because their life cycles are simply shorter, simpler and you've only got one mother. FYL, OP. FYL.

I'm glad it was sarcasm, but no, it wasn't obvious. Normally I can tell sarcasm by inflection in the voice, and when it's text, key words or the level of outrageousness.
