Devils advocate here, but honestly how many guys would try and play it off like they had never met the other girl. I give OP's ex some credit for the fact that she won't fall for that shit. Too many girls get stuck with a cheating guy because they believe all the guys stories. Still sucks for OP, but his now ex isn't at fault.

I agree with you to an extent, but I do think that relationships should be built on trust. If OP was admit about not knowing what the hell was going on, than perhaps the girlfriend should have given him the benefit of the doubt. It takes two to make a relationship work and they're times you have to work through things instead of just giving up.
