Today, I was yelled at in public for staring at a guy in a wheelchair. I was staring because he was so good looking. FML

Today, I went to a family dinner. While waiting to be seated, a guy walked by and I looked to see if he was hot. Then my grandma yelled, "Get your eyeballs back in your head and quit staring at boys!" The whole restaurant heard her. Including the guy. And yes, he was hot. FML
Today, at the supermarket, a guy started yelling at me for staring at his "woman." She frankly looked like someone had carved Mick Jagger's face into a turd. When I told him I have better things to do than ogle random women, he started harassing me for being "a queer." FML
Today, I was riding on my usual bus, when I noticed a man staring at me. I was having a really bad day, and said "Can you please stop staring at me?" He then replied with "I'm just trying to look out the window, and your head is in the way. Don't flatter yourself." FML
Today, someone at my workplace yelled at me and filed a complaint for staring at them too often. I'm a lifeguard. FML
Today, while out in public, my stepmom turned and screamed at me for a good while for “walking through a door before an elder.” People stared. FML
Today, I saw a lesbian couple walking through the mall. One of the ladies walked up to me in the middle of the busy mall and started screaming at me about how rude it is to stare, and how we are all equal- straight or not. I was only staring because I'm a lesbian too, and they were hot. FML
Today, I was at the mall and I noticed this guy staring at me from across the food court. He smiled and waved at me so I walked over there and tried to talk to him. He was looking at his girlfriend the whole time. FML
Today, I told a guy he should be ashamed of himself for parking in a handicapped space. He hit me with his prosthetic leg. FML
Today, I was pushing my wheelchair-bound grandpa back home, when a pretty girl walked past us in the opposite direction. He made me stop and turn him around, just so he could check her ass out as she walked away. FML
Today, I was at a restaurant where the host is an attractive guy with only one arm. I was with my family, so I didn't want to be too obvious when checking him out. It seems like I was, though, because he came over and told me it was rude to stare at his arm. FML

Unless someone is staring for an excessive amount of time people shouldn't immediately think someone is creepy for looking at them.

But when you see a breathe taking gorgeous guy. You just have too. I still remember what this stranger's smile looked like, passing by a few years ago. I just had to stare at him wide eyed. Embarrassingly with my mouth hanging open. Lol totally worth it. Led to a funny conversation after.

Exactly. I don't understand this kind of double standard. Every time I've looked at a girl for longer than two seconds I've been told off for being creepy and staring. So if a guy stares at a girl because he finds her attractive it's creepy, but if a girl stares at a guy because he's attractive then it's totally acceptable? That's fair.

How about no one stares at anyone??? It's creepy no matter who is doing it to who, and I really don't understand why people are getting thumbed down for calling it what it is. Also, "feminazis"? Really? Comparing a (sometimes misguided) movement for equal rights to the people who committed mass genocide is pretty nasty.

I am a quadriplegic and every time I go outside people avoid and stare at me. I can understand that children are curious, but when adults stare it is just plain rude. However, I would never yell at someone. If someone thought that I was cute I would LOVE it if they would talk to me instead of thinking about it!

I feel as though "society" is more of a collection of someone's close minded, sick views on how we should live out our lives... Who gets to decide how you live? Sounds wrong to me. Lol, in short stare if you want, say hi if you want. But don't feel bad that someone yelled at you, because of what they assumed.
