Today, while trying to get my attention, my dog got her nail stuck in a usb port in my laptop. She freaked out and ran off, dragging it off my lap and through the house before if came off. Her nail was only slightly chipped- my laptop now has a cracked screen. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was on my phone while it was charging. My hands fumbled a bit, and my phone slipped out of my fingers. Thinking quickly, I grabbed it by the charging cable to save it. The cable unplugged, and my phone now has a pretty crack on the screen from hitting the tile floor. FML
Today, while I was reading on my tablet, my dog wanted to be let outside, so I set down the tablet and let her outside. I returned to the living room to continue reading when I heard a crunch. The tablet had fallen to the floor and I'd stepped on it. FML
Today, I was transferring video from my camera to my laptop so I could start editing my film project. My wife’s badly behaved dog decided to barrel through my office, knocking everything over. Screen shattered, camera broken, video files corrupted due to the cable coming out mid-transfer. FML
Today, after getting my phone fixed last week because my daughter dropped it and it landed on a corner, I dropped it again at the dog park and several big dogs fighting with my dog stepped on it. One of them cracked the screen again. FML
Today, I accidentally rammed my finger into my desk, and it felt like I'd broken it. Yelping in pain, I fell over onto my bed, missed it, and landed on the floor. My dog saw this as a good opportunity to climb on top of me and start humping. FML
Today, I woke up to find out that my practically feral cat had chewed through my laptop charger cable. I guess I won't be getting much work done today. FML
Today, I fell down concrete stairs trying to plug my computer into an outlet. I now have a twisted ankle, scrape on my elbow and a huge scratch across my laptop. The best part? The outlet wasn't even working. FML
Today, my dog chewed through his leash, so I had to take him inside to prevent him from running off. I went to bed. I woke up to torn-up blinds, half-ate sandals, and a very, very anxious cat due to my dog running after her and trying to sniff her butt. FML
Today, I went to put my laptop on a desk when I got a text message. I was startled by the ringtone and dropped my laptop on the ground. It now has dent marks on the bottom. The text message was from an annoying friend, simply saying, "I'm eating a hot dog." FML
Today, I tried to fix my laptop charger by fiddling around with it using metal tweezers. Not only did I forget to unplug the cord and shocked myself, I also ended up breaking the charger completely. FML

people can be so rude on this site, its not the dogs fault that she got her nail caught in something and was scared, and if you ever have been around a scared animal you would know how hard it is to calm them down before they make the situation worse (kinda like PEOPLE for instance)

YDI. If your dog is moving towardas you or trying to get attention, at the very least make eye contact. And if the dog is about to jump, get ready for hell-don't just sit there with the computer in harm's way. You must have a huge dog if it can drag a laptop around the room by it's toenail.

Been there. My friend sat on my closed laptop. I had a huge crack on the screen and had to pay $300 for a new one. FYL :(

It sucks, but you totally deserve it. Properly training your pets prevents those kinds of problems.

This is why I'm a cat person. A dog being a dog. I suppose you could have gave it a pat or something like that. But really, incidents are bound to happen with animals despite "training". Just ask Roy Horn. FYL

People, I give my dogs a LOT of attention but they still ruin my stuff. They're probably some of the most spoiled, and lovable, dogs but every now and again they break something of value. They're also very well trained[even my 8 month old puppy is surprisingly smart] so don't give me that bull crap. OP: sucks for you. I'm sure you can ebay a new screen or find a new laptop for cheap. I'm sorry that happened to you.
