Today, while bagging my groceries at a store, a lady came over to me, took a good look at the food I'd bought, picked out an item and put it in her bag. When I confronted her, she called security on me and told them I wanted to steal her stuff. I got thrown out and she walked away with a smirk. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Weird old lady of the day
Today, I was at the supermarket when an elderly lady asked if I'd grab some coffee for her from a high shelf. The moment I took my hands off my almost-full shopping cart, she made off with it. I ended up getting thrown out by security after she claimed I was trying to steal it from her. FML
Pranks for all ages
Today, I was grocery shopping, when an elderly lady walked up to me and tripped over her own feet. I caught her by the arm, at which point she shrieked at me for "groping" her. She ended up smirking as security threw me out of the store. FML
Today, I was working as a cashier and a woman brought up a suitcase. As I was ringing her up I checked inside like I'm supposed to and I very jokingly say, "Look at all the stuff you're stealing." She laughed nervously then hit me in the head with her heavy purse before running out of the store. FML
Jedi mind trick
Today, while covering lunch for the self-checkout host, I noticed a customer walking away. I smiled and said, "Have a nice night!" A few minutes later, I saw that she'd left without paying on her machine. I'd smiled and waved at a lady as she stole from me. FML
Shop til you drop
Today, after getting home from shopping, I noticed a security tag was still on one of the shirts I bought. I decided to take it back and ask them to remove the tag. They then accused me of trying to steal (even after I showed them the receipt) and kicked me out of the store. FML
Today, I saw an elderly woman struggling to reach the top shelf in my local grocery store, so I went over and asked if she needed help. She then accused me of flirting with her and had me escorted from the property. FML
Oi! Get back here!
Today, while buying groceries, I noticed that the lady in front of me had left a box behind. I grabbed the box and ran out the door after her. After turning around to find three employees chasing me, I noticed I had just stolen the donation box. FML
Stars of CCTV
Today, while I was shopping, I spotted a lady who had the last of an item I wanted in her cart. She went off to the dressing room, so seeing my opportunity, I went and grabbed it from her cart, and put it in mine. I hadn't noticed her bratty-ass daughter next to the cart, who then yelled, “I saw that! Mommy! Some lady's stealing from your cart!” FML
The cat's out of the bag
Today, I was shopping with my husband. At the self-checkout, one of the items I was buying for him as a gift didn’t register. As we were walking out, I get stopped and escorted to the loss prevention office, where I was accused of stealing. FML
Today, I was shopping at Walmart, when I saw a really good deal on some bacon. Before I could take any, a huge-ass woman stormed over, kicked my cart down the aisle, and snatched every single packet for herself. And I actually got upset over this. FML

Security tapes?

Have them look at the security tapes. That'll clear everything up.

Receipts?
yzzami 17
I agree here. You could have told security to look at their cams or look at the reciets

Yeah OP definitely deserved it if she wasn't smart enough to pull out a receipt.
nightbirdblue 27
Maybe OP did, but the woman went into the hysterical victim mode. Another possibility is that the security staff are in on it. The woman must of been pretty confident to just walk over, look at the food, and grab it, in full sight of OP. That confidence could mean a set up.

sounds like Impractical Jokers!!

If it's on the receipt, make the guards check your bags then grab another one to replace it. You paid for it, they let her steal it. Not your fault. Their problem. Then ask to speak to a manager.

Hell yeah it would. Also, the person at the register has no say in this? Wtf?

51- shouldn't matter, there is always a cashier watching the self-serve checkouts, who could have easily been called over to say "yeah, I saw her buy that". They might have even noticed the other woman taking OP's stuff. I don't understand how this would have been at all difficult to prove... Sounds like someone screwed something up.

I work in a grocery store, anyone trying to pull a stunt like this where I work would be locked in our security office waiting for the cops to come, then put on a no trespassing warrant. It sounds to me that OP is shopping at a very shitty small town market, or possibly even wal-mart.

This is what receipts are good for if they believe OP

Self check out maybe?

Ask security to go through the security tapes. Hopefully they will reimburse you. I'm sorry to hear about this though.

I think the fact that security in stores is pretty high (security tapes, anti-theft things on the doors, etc.) you should be able to talk to the manager and get the tapes looked at.

Old people man... They get away with everything! People assume they're innocent but they're usually more guilty about shit than the rest of us!

It just says lady. We don't know if she was old or not.
MEM0817 18
Whoops, I somehow mis-read it and thought it said old lady. My apologies.
MEM0817 18
I think that is it. I had just read the FML about the old lady and bookshelf incident and then read this shortly after.

Some people think they can do whatever they want... And get away with it too

I guess that's actually true for that lady

Ah, the new way to shop: with no accountability.

That's the new way to do everything, who has accountability these days

I would've said Santa clause... but the dick never gave me that Nerf gun I asked for >:(

Although what she did was morally wrong, I admire her craftiness.
MrConcise 35
When it comes down to it, grade school bullies commonly pull the same stunt. So she's about as crafty as a 1st grade student.

Who can be quite underhanded and devious to get their own way...
nightbirdblue 27
Playing victim isn't really that crafty.
