Today, trying to be smooth, I slipped the girl I like a piece of paper with my phone number written on it. A while later, she slipped it back to me and left the room. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Jot that down
Today, I wrote my phone number on a Post-it note and gave it to a cute girl at work. She immediately threw it away. In front of me. FML
Hitting it off
Today, my friend and I went to a bar for drinks. I noticed this cute girl and went over to say "Hi." I had a great conversation with her and I asked for her number before she left. She passed it to me on a piece of paper with instructions specifying for my friend to call her and not me. FML
Today, I looked in my pocket for the phone number of a girl I met last night at a party. I remembered us talking and exchanging phone numbers. When I found the piece of paper, I discovered that instead of writing her number down, I had drunkenly written down my own. FML
Denied
Today, I asked a girl for her number and I wrote it down when she gave it to me. When I called her, it wasn't her. She'd given me a restaurant's phone number. FML
Today, I got talking to a pretty girl on the subway. Just as she was about to get off, I handed her my phone so that she could give me her number. She ran out with it. FML
Today, I worked up the courage to give a guy my number. I wrote it down on a piece of paper, tore it in half and gave it to him. Later, I noticed I'd given him the wrong, blank half. FML
Today, a girl I've been crushing on for over a year finally gave me her number. I lost the note at home, but found it a few hours later. I excitedly called, only to find she'd written down the number for the local Pizza Hut. FML
Hard pass
Today, I finally worked up the courage to write a girl a note, with my number on it, and the words: "You're stunning. Get in touch sometime." Heart pounding, I saw her, got up, and passed her the note. Then I passed out at her feet. FML
Today, I went to a rock concert and met this amazing girl. We started talking and then swapped cell numbers. Five minutes later, she asks to see my cellphone, so I gave it to her. Once I got home I went to text her and saw that she deleted her number. FML
Fat chance
Today, I left my number on my receipt for a cute waitress. As I was leaving the bar, she came running out and called me over. I obviously got excited. Turns out I'd forgotten to sign my slip. FML

Perhaps she typed it into her phone before leaving, thereby giving you a chance for a real connection. Or not...

It's not smooth when you give a girl some scrap of paper. Go talk to her and show her some of your better qualities; you might find that she'll be a bit more responsive.

Hahaha what a bitch. You're better off without her
TellMeWhatsDeath 14
I wouldn't say she's a bitch..probably just not interested?

22 - If she wasn't interested, she could have just kept the number and tossed it or something. Giving if back is kind've bitchy.

I'm guessing you're single

I don't see what she did as bitchy, really. Yes, it was rude to hand back the paper like that, but I find it kinda hilarious, to be quite honest. He's tryna be all smooth slipping her his number and she's just as smooth and even more so by giving it back, not giving a shit. Awesome.

Smooth as sandpaper there OP, YDI.

Sandpaper makes things smooth, but its not smooth itself. What you should of said is, "Smooth as something sanded." :P

44- I'm almost certain that 14 was merely being sarcastic
ElricMustang 23
I can't believe 44 actually tried explaining that...

I wouldn't keep some random number especially if I didnt know who it belonged to

23- Reread the post. OP got the number back, which implies that she knew who OP was.

Really, four people like this? Seriously? Edit, Five now!? Wow...

I believe 23 is siding with the girl who got the number, as in why she rejected it :)

Next time, instead of 'trying to be smooth', try and be a human being and just talk to her without any cheesy pick up bullshit.
