Today, the kid next to me asked me, in all seriousness, if gay people have feelings like regular people. I'm gay, and I have to sit next to this barnacle until June. FML

He's stupid as ****, but some people just are. Perhaps he is genuinely curious and u can help my informing him!

You can't fix stupid... You can, but it's illegal to kill them or punch them in the face. Ask to change seats maybe? What a jackass.

And for those who said the op deserved it, please get your head out of you a** and grow up, someone being gay doesn't affect you

"Except for the ones that give me a boner from looking at girls."

I would have gone with. "Except for the one giving me a boner right now...if you know what I mean."

Barnacle? I think you give their level if intelligence too much credit. I think coral would be a more even match...

You should have told him: "Yes, because I'm gay and you have just insulted me..." Would like to know his reaction to that!

No, our feelings are by nature more fabulous. Especially in comparison to the feelings of a barnacle.

Maybe it is his really awkward way of initiating a conversation. Perhaps he is even questioning his sexuality and doesn't know how to gather information. Or maybe he is an insensitive crusty growth. idk

Even crusty growths grow.

Maybe he tried to ask whether gay people have the same feelings towards people "they" are attracted to, as heterosexual people have? It is still a silly question (to lump people together in those groups for that particular question), but perhaps a bit less offensive?

Yeah. That's what I was thinking, that he was curious, but didn't know how to ask the question. That might be his way of coming out.

Did you ask him if ignorant people have the same feelings as normal people?
