Today, my vegan girlfriend openly admitted that she'd let me die if she had to choose between saving my life or an animal's. She actually seemed confused as to why that upset me. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my vegan boyfriend told me that if he were forced to kill either his cat or me, he'd kill me because he "would never kill an animal." FML
Today, I told my girlfriend that I'm a vegan. She replied, "So, you're allergic to meat?" FML
Never gonna happen
Today, my girlfriend woke me up by saying, "Good morning! We're going to be vegans from now on." FML
Weird logic
Today, I actually overheard the sentence, “People who can’t go vegan for medical reasons should die gracefully rather than eat an animal.” FML
Disloyal!
Today, I was at my boyfriend's house for dinner with his family. His mom cooked up a steak dinner, except that I'm a vegan, but trying to be a good girlfriend, I forced it down. Upon his mother finding out I was a vegan, she called me "disloyal to my beliefs." FML
Today, my vegan step-mom found out I ate at McDonald's yesterday. She gave me hell and asked me how it feels to give money to "murderers". All while my dad sat quietly by because he's too whipped to speak his mind. It wasn't even her house a month ago. FML
Today, my girlfriend of five months told me that she had booked us reservations to our town's Halloween barbecue party. When I reminded her that I'm vegan, she told me she specifically got the reservations to help me to quit my "stupid fad". Weird, I never knew being a devout Hindu was a fad. FML
Ingredients check
Today, my boyfriend told me the sauce he made for our dinner that was meat-based, trying to show me how nice meat is and stop me being a weirdo vegan. The reason I’m vegan is because my digestive system can’t handle animal protein. I’m writing this from the bathroom, vomiting myself to death. FML
Today, I took my girlfriend out to a vegetarian-friendly restaurant. She ordered shrimp fettuccine, and I asked why. She slowly explained to me that vegetarians can eat shrimp, then muttered that she now knows who has the brains in our relationship. FML
Poor doggo
Today, I noticed my sister's dog was very sick. One trip to the vet's later, the dog was diagnosed with gut problems caused by bad diet, and a life expectancy of about 3 months. I confronted my sister, who admitted she had the dog on the same vegan diet as her, to “save the planet.” Selfish hippie cow. FML

She was probably more concerned about the meat she doesn't eat. Sorry if my joke isn't kosher. I'm just hamming it up.

She just needs a hug. And bacon.

Her name does not happen to be "petite tea" on deviantart? Yeah, she called me a horrible person for loving my mother more than animals. She also claimed her "boyfriend" did not mind her feeling the same towards him. Huh, he must be a desperate thing.

That is a hard decision. I may not be a vegan, but an animals death is still way more upsetting to a humans.

its really not a hard decision at all, if you think its a hard decision to save a animal you dont even know or your boyfriend then there is something wrong with you. How the hell is an animal's death more upsetting than a human, especially if said human is your boyfriend?

There is room for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.

Hey, maybe the hypothetical animal was a really cute puppy, you never know

I'm sorry that vegans like her give us a bad name. A true vegan is someone who values all life, including the lives of humans.

I'd also save an animal over a human any day. Humans suck.

A girl and a boy in my class actually agreed that if they see a baby and a puppy drown they'd save the puppy first...

Stuff like this, and the other red flags that we see on this site are why we encourage long courtships before finalizing the relationship with a wedding. People should have plenty of time to get to know their intended spouses before finalizing it, because it is so much better to DUMP THE JERKS before the wedding, than deal with a messy divorce later. Always pay attention to the red flags! It is possible to find good people, of course. That's why you don't want to waste your time with people practically spelling out "I am a nodcock" in semaphore with their red flags. Take the red flags, when first given, and say, "Hmmm, I can do better elsewhere," and find someone better elsewhere. Now, if you don't see the red flags until after the wedding, it's probably cheaper to do marriage counseling than divorce. Whirlwind courtships often wind up like this. Now and then, someone does the love-at-first-sight thing, and is ridiculously lucky, and gets a good one. Kinda rare, though. Most people tend to be comfortable enough in a new relationship to start flying their red flags at about six months to a year, so it's best not to marry before then, or you might be discovering the flag locker on your honeymoon.

The problem here isn't veganism. Eat whatever works for you. The problem is that the girlfriend declared that she would rather save some animal than the person she professes to love. And she doesn't see why the person she professes to love is hurt by the fact that she would rather save an animal than her lover. It's not even about humans vs. animals. It's about her LOVER vs. animals. Not even a beloved specific animal, but animals in general. Skunks are animals, and I'd really be hurt if my lover rated me lower than a skunk.

What a ******* bitch. Sorry to be mean but you're a human being. Animals, as mean as this may sound, are just animals. Millions are consumed every day. She would sacrifice her boyfriend just to save one of them? Wow
