Today, my parents told me about how they met. I'd already known they were eight years apart, but I never knew my dad started dating my mom when he was 21 and she was 13. FML

Today, I found out that when my mum had introduced me to her boyfriend, it was right before his birthday, so she'd rounded his age up. For two years I thought he was seven and a half years older than me, when really he's actually six and a half years older. FML
Today, my dad is getting married for the 4th time. First it was my mom, then as they got older, he married a woman 10 years his junior, then his third wife was my age and 28 years his junior. Now at the grand old age of 64, he is marrying a 22 year old, 42 years his junior, almost 2 decades younger than me. FML
Today, my dad told me he was planning to have his steady girlfriend over for dinner. He's only had a few relationships since he and my mom split up when I was very young, so I was excited to meet the woman. He then told me that I knew her already. My dad is dating my aunt on my mothers side. FML
Today, I was introduced to my dad's girlfriend of six months. I've already heard them sleeping together several times, and seen her car pull away early in the morning. After meeting face to face, I also learned that she's only two years older than me. FML
Today, when my dad said he was dating a woman he met at his retirees social club, I assumed it was a woman also in her 60s. Nope. Barmaid. A whole 42 years younger than him, 9 years younger than me. FML
Today, my dad casually mentioned my half-sister in conversation. He had her out of wedlock when he was only 13. NEWS TO ME, HE'S NEVER MENTIONED I HAVE A HALF-SISTER BEFORE AND I'M FREAKING 22 YEARS-OLD. Apparently he and mom thought I knew, and just forgot to tell me. FML
Today, I found out that my father asked my best friend to marry him. He's 38 and we're 18. She said yes. FML
Today, I asked my mom to tell me how she met my dad, because after 15 years me and my dad are finally working on our relationship. My mom thought it was a good time to tell me he’s not my father, and that my biological father wants to meet me this week. FML
Today, I'm 20 years-old and I was propositioned by a 42 year-old man, who turned out to be my dad's friend who helped care for me when I was 2 to 7 years-old. FML
Today, my boyfriend, who's a bit older than me, introduced me to his daughter. I was expecting a toddler. Nope, she's a year older than me. FML

umm #23 a 21 year old dating a 13 year old is called statutory Rape and is illegal in all states. the guy could be arrested even it was mutual. that's why it was wrong. and you're sick for dating a 20 year old, if someone complains, your bf is going to jail. look it up, and date someone your own age.

Ecascio - I'm fairly certain that 'dating' is not illegal, frowned upon probably. But you are saying that 'dating'='sex', which isn't true. If an adult has 'sex' with a minor then yes, that is illegal.

I dated a 19 year old guy when I was 13. Now that I'm older (much older, I might add), I recognize the truth about that relationship: 1) He was severely emotionally immature. Women is own age scared him; he couldn't relate to them so he sought solice in someone his own emotional age: a middle schooler. Of course, I didn't realize that was the case. I just thought I attracted a 19 year old because I was the hottest 13 year old ever. 2) I needed attention from older men because of "father issues". And, I was just looking to deliver an extreme shock to my parents. It worked. Fortunately, no long term damage came from the relationship. Eventually, I figured out that it was creepy he was interested in me and broke it off with him. A couple years later, I started dating (again), but chose guys much closer to my own age. In looking back, it's scary how delusional I was about the reality of the situation and easily I engaged in such unhealthy behavior. That kind of age difference between a couple, when one is still basically pubescent, is just not right.
